Around the night of April 28th, this cold air mass will affect the northeastern part of Northern Vietnam, then the northern part of Central Vietnam, and some areas in the northwestern part of Northern Vietnam and the central part of Central Vietnam.
Inland, winds will shift to northeasterly at force 2-3, and force 3-4 in coastal areas. The weather will become cooler in the Northeast and North Central regions. The lowest temperatures during this cold spell in the Northeast region will generally range from 20-23 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous areas experiencing temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius, while in the North Central region, temperatures will generally range from 21-24 degrees Celsius.
In the Hanoi area, from the evening of April 28th to the morning of April 29th, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain; the weather will become cooler. The lowest temperature during this cold spell will generally be 21-23 degrees Celsius.
At sea, from early morning on April 29th, in the northern Gulf of Tonkin and the northern part of the South China Sea, the wind will shift to strong northeasterly winds of force 5, sometimes force 6, gusting to force 7, causing rough seas with waves 1.5-2.5m high.
Forecasts indicate that from the evening of April 28th to the morning of April 29th, Northern Vietnam will experience rain, moderate rain, and scattered thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain. On April 29th, both day and night, the North Central region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain.
Warning: Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds may affect agricultural production, cause trees to fall, damage houses, transportation infrastructure, and other facilities.
Localized heavy rainfall is likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas. Gusty winds and high waves at sea may affect shipping and other activities.
* Last night and early this morning (April 28th) , scattered showers and thunderstorms occurred in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces , with some areas experiencing heavy rain. Rainfall amounts from 7 PM on April 27th to 8 AM on April 28th exceeded 50mm in some areas, such as Phinh Ho (Quang Ninh) with 82mm and Yen Lap (Phu Tho) with 51.2mm.
From the evening of April 28th to the morning of April 29th, the Northern region experienced rain, moderate rain, and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall amounts ranging from 20-40mm, and in some localized areas, heavy to very heavy rain exceeding 100mm.
On April 29th, both day and night, the northern Central region experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall amounts of 10-30mm, and some areas receiving over 50mm of rain.
