On July 9, 2025, at the entry lane of Cau Treo International Border Gate (CKQT), Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs presided over and coordinated the inspection of the Lao license plate car 2225 driven by Nguyen Xuan Hung, discovering 25 boxes of laundry detergent from Thailand (100% new goods). Nguyen Xuan Hung admitted to transporting for hire for a woman (unknown identity) from Lakxao market (Laos) to Son Tay commune. At the time of inspection, Nguyen Xuan Hung could not present legal documents and records related to the goods.

Previously, on June 12, 2025, also at the Cau Treo International Border Gate's entry lane, Cau Treo International Border Gate's Customs discovered and seized 8 Hatari electric fans (origin Thailand) transported by Cu Viet Lam (born in 1994, residing in Son Kim 2 commune); the evidence was hidden in a 24-seat car with Lao license plate 4935.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Trung - Deputy Captain of Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs said: The unit always arranges forces to be on duty 24/24 hours, to fight, control and grasp the situation on both sides of the border gate, strengthen screening through scanners, and use support tools. Strictly implement customs procedures and processes, synchronously deploy professional measures in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and drug prevention. Actively coordinate with our functional forces and Laos in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and drug prevention. In the first 7 months of 2025, the unit has presided over and coordinated the arrest of 8 cases of illegal cross-border transportation of goods with main items such as: gold, fireworks, MSG, electric fans, laundry detergent, drugs, etc.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the traffic volume of vehicles entering and exiting through Cau Treo International Border Gate increased by nearly 19% over the same period.

In the coming time, the Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs force will continue to promote propaganda for people not to trade, use, store and produce prohibited goods; strengthen inspection and strict supervision of vehicles and luggage carrying out exit, entry and transit procedures at the border gate; strictly control trucks, tractor-trailers, passenger cars with compartments and compartments showing signs of collecting, hiding, and containing smuggled goods, prohibited goods, and goods without valid invoices and documents transported into the country for consumption. Strengthen screening and use of sniffer dogs in checking luggage, goods, and vehicles entering and exiting the country; proactively prevent and combat smuggling, coordinate to prevent, investigate and handle violations of illegal entry and exit.

Along with goods, since the beginning of the year, the volume of vehicles entering and exiting through Cau Treo International Border Gate has also increased (nearly 19%) compared to the same period, putting considerable pressure on the authorities, especially when many subjects find ways to insert banned and counterfeit goods into the official trade flow. Exported goods at the border gate are mainly construction materials, office equipment, confectionery; main imported goods are: agricultural products, minerals, electronics, laundry detergents...

Major Le Thanh Dai - Deputy Head of Cau Treo International Border Guard Station said: "The unit has deployed synchronous working measures, proactively grasped the situation early and remotely on the activities of all types of criminals; proactively arranged, coordinated to assess and classify vehicles and subjects with suspicious signs to separate, combat, prevent and promptly handle violations of the law. At the same time, coordinated smoothly with functional forces at Cau Treo International Border Gate as well as Nam Phao International Border Gate (Laos) to promptly exchange information on the activities of all types of criminals, proactively combat and prevent early and remotely; exchanged new policies and guidelines of Laos that affect import and export through Cau Treo International Border Gate, contributing to ensuring political security and social order and safety at the border gate".

Thanks to proactive measures, recently, the Cau Treo International Border Guard Station has taken the lead and coordinated with functional forces to detect and arrest drug traffickers in large quantities. Specifically, on July 17, 2025, at the Cau Treo International Border Gate entry channel, the unit took the lead and coordinated to arrest Tran Van Nam (born in 1996), who illegally transported drugs and military weapons. The seized exhibits included 38kg of crystal meth, 3kg of ketamine, 9,000 synthetic drug pills, 1 heroin cake, 1 military gun, 15 bullets and many fake car license plates.

The last months of the year are often the peak of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods transportation through Cau Treo International Border Gate with increasingly sophisticated tricks such as: hiding banned goods and drugs in containers, homemade tunnels, and discreetly reinforced compartments on vehicles, including luxury cars and pickup trucks, or camouflaging them in imported goods and bulky transit goods to deceive the authorities. In this situation, the authorities in Cau Treo Economic Zone are always vigilant, resolutely fighting, and synchronously deploying control and prevention measures, contributing to maintaining security and order in the area.
