Comrade Tran Luu Quang holds the position of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, was appointed by the Politburo to join the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

On the morning of August 25, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Politburo held a conference to announce and present the Politburo's Decision on personnel work.

Attending the conference were comrades: Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat; Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission; Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission; and comrades of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

At the conference, comrade Nguyen Quang Duong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission, announced the Politburo's Decision on personnel work.

According to the decision of the Politburo, comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, ceased to hold the position of Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission and related positions; transferred and appointed comrade Tran Luu Quang to participate in the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2020-2025.
