Over the past five years, the emulation and reward work and the "Determined to Win" emulation movement of the Naval Region 5 Command have closely followed the resolutions and directives of the Navy Party Committee and the instructions of the superior agencies. The Region has implemented the emulation and reward work and the "Determined to Win" emulation movement extensively, comprehensively, with focus, key points, in the right direction, close to the situation, tasks and activities of the troops; linked the emulation movement with the implementation of campaigns at all levels and sectors, truly becoming a revolutionary action movement; a driving force to motivate officers and soldiers to enthusiastically compete, unite and strive to excellently complete key political tasks, build a clean and strong Party organization, a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Regional Command.
Agencies and units have focused on educating officers and soldiers to have a correct understanding of the situation, tasks, partners and targets; to improve political mettle, high determination, and absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland and the people. Officers and soldiers in the entire region always clearly identify their assigned responsibilities and tasks; and are ready to accept hardships and sacrifices to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

From 2019 to present, the Naval Region 5 Command has organized more than 1,200 trips of ships and boats to carry out patrolling, reconnaissance, patrolling, managing, protecting the sea, searching and rescuing and performing assigned tasks; participating in 11 joint patrols with the Royal Thai Navy, 22 joint patrols with the Royal Cambodian Navy, contributing to strengthening solidarity, friendship, mutual understanding and trust, building a peaceful and stable Southwest sea in the new situation...
The region has performed well the task of patrolling and controlling to prevent fishing boats from illegally exploiting seafood, without reporting and without regulations; excellently completed the task of rescue, participating in fire fighting, preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods in the area.

The "Determined to Win" emulation movement has been closely combined with the "Excellent training, strict discipline" emulation movement, creating a great driving force to encourage and motivate officers and soldiers to promote initiatives, improve models and teaching tools, consolidate training grounds and training grounds to bring about practical results. Training work always adheres to the motto "Basic, practical, solid", synchronous and in-depth training, mastering weapons and technical equipment, close to the target, close to the battlefield, taking the task of protecting sovereignty of seas and islands as the training goal; linking military training with political education, building discipline, training discipline; strengthening practical training and drills according to plans; completing many new and difficult training contents well...
From the emulation movement, agencies and units in the Region have had many typical models such as: "Smoke-free ship", "Regular, exemplary ship", "Youth on duty", "Learning one law every week"... Thereby, contributing to preventing and minimizing the risk of violations of law and discipline, especially serious cases, and ensuring absolute safety for the unit.
The emulation movement "The Army Logistics Sector Follows Uncle Ho's Teachings" of the Region has encouraged soldiers to uphold the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, and actively increase production. Despite the remote island conditions, harsh climate and weather, officers and soldiers have overcome difficulties, ensuring vegetables and some food for soldiers, with many effective models such as: "Increasing concentrated production and specialized cultivation"; "Gardens, trellises, cages" model at radar stations...

The emulation movement to build and manage the "Green - Clean - Beautiful" regular barracks is maintained regularly, encouraging soldiers to promote their internal strength to consolidate barracks from agencies to units with clear progressive changes. Deeply engraven the teaching of President Ho Chi Minh "Doctors must be like kind mothers", the "5 Good Military Medicine" movement is always respected by all levels, especially the work of managing, nurturing and taking care of soldiers' health, the number of healthy soldiers reaches 98.84% or more.
The entire Region has promoted its internal strength, carried out preservation, maintenance, and repair of ships, motorbikes, and technical equipment. Some items, implemented for the first time, have saved the State budget billions of dong, promptly meeting the tasks. Many models and initiatives have been researched and applied to improve the features and efficiency of technical equipment such as: Initiatives and improvements to mobile radar on cars; improvements to Bigeyes optical sights; Marins inertial navigation system data converters... Every year, the technical coefficients of ships, vehicles, and weapons of all types have reached and exceeded the target by 7-10%; for many consecutive years, the Regional Command has been recognized as the leading unit in the "Keep well, use durably" movement of the Army Corps.

Promoting the achievements and results that have been achieved, in the coming time, the Party Committee and Command of Naval Region 5 will continue to lead, direct, and organize the implementation of the "Determined to Win" emulation movement in a practical, effective, and extensive manner; closely combine the "Determined to Win" emulation movement with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style and movements and campaigns of all levels and sectors; orient the emulation target towards successfully completing the political tasks of the unit; build, foster, and replicate advanced models; encourage, motivate, and develop new and highly effective models and methods... to create a stronger driving force to build a comprehensively strong Region, a clean and strong Party Committee, and firmly protect the Southwestern sea and island areas of the Fatherland in the new situation.
