On the morning of August 25, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee held a signing ceremony to hand over 5,000 hectares of Long Thanh airport project site to the Southern Airports Authority.

The Long Thanh airport project covers an area of 5,000 hectares, affecting the lives of nearly 5,500 households, of which more than 4,500 households need resettlement. This is the largest land acquisition project that Dong Nai province has ever implemented.
Site clearance work for the Long Thanh airport project has been underway since 2018. Due to the large volume of work, Dong Nai has repeatedly dispatched more than 100 officials from departments and agencies to support Long Thanh District in site clearance work.

However, Dong Nai authorities have tried and made efforts to complete site clearance for a total area of 5,000 hectares for the Long Thanh airport project.
Speaking at the signing ceremony to hand over 5,000 hectares of land for the Long Thanh airport project, Mr. Vo Tan Duc, acting Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, praised the organizations and officials participating in the site clearance work, and thanked the people for sacrificing their personal interests to give up land for the national key project.
Currently, the excavation and leveling of the Long Thanh airport project has been basically completed. The important bidding package for the construction of the passenger terminal and runway has also found a contractor. It is expected that the most important item of the Long Thanh airport project will be implemented on August 31.
