This result not only exceeded the set target but also contributed to forming energy-saving habits in the community, ensuring a safe and stable electricity supply for socio-economic development.
Effectiveness of communication
In the first quarter of 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 75/KH-UBND on implementing the program for energy saving, efficiency, and sustainable production and consumption. The plan sets a target of saving at least 2.1% of total electricity consumption; of which, administrative and public service agencies save at least 5%, public lighting saves 30%, and the business, service, and industrial production sectors save 2.1%.
To implement the above plan, the Department of Industry and Trade, Dong Nai Power Company, urban infrastructure management units, industrial parks, and local authorities have simultaneously implemented many solutions, with a focus on public awareness campaigns.
According to Tran The Du, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Power Company, since the beginning of 2025, the company and its affiliated units have implemented many energy saving solutions. Besides communication through newspapers, social media, and internal information systems, in the second quarter of 2025, the power company coordinated with the education sector to organize 18 extracurricular activities for thousands of teachers and students. In addition, the company organized an online competition "Customers with solutions for saving and efficiently using electricity," attracting over 11,700 participants; and encouraged nearly 2,000 cadres and employees to participate in the online competition "Learning about energy saving" launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In addition to the general campaign, specific communication efforts are designed for each customer group. For households, the use of LED bulbs and high-efficiency energy-saving devices is encouraged. For public lighting, the power company, in coordination with infrastructure management units, adjusts operating modes and reduces light intensity according to seasons and times. Administrative and public service agencies are required to provide electricity consumption data from the previous year, propose a 5% saving plan; advise the People's Committees of communes and wards to issue regulations on energy-saving electricity use; and periodically monitor and evaluate implementation results.
For business customers, the power company advises on solutions and encourages a 50% reduction in advertising and signage lighting power and a reduction in electricity usage during peak hours. For industrial production, key energy-consuming facilities are required to comply with the Law on Economical and Efficient Energy Use; conduct energy audits every three years; arrange production rationally, limiting high-capacity operation during peak hours; encourage the installation of rooftop solar power; and participate in electricity demand management and load adjustment programs.
Thanks to decisive implementation, in the first seven months of 2025, the province's electricity savings reached over 268 million kWh, equivalent to 2.25% of total commercial electricity production, exceeding the target of 2.1%. This is not only a positive sign that helps reduce pressure on electricity supply but also fosters good habits and contributes to environmental protection.
Develop habits of saving electricity.
According to the leaders of Dong Nai Power Company, energy conservation is a regular and continuous political task. In the coming time, when the new school year is stable, the power sector will continue to coordinate with schools to organize extracurricular activities on energy conservation for teachers and students, maintain awareness campaigns in the community, monitor customers' electricity usage through online systems, and reward collectives and individuals who perform effectively.

With the results of the first seven months of 2025 and the solutions being implemented, Dong Nai Power Company believes it will complete, and even exceed, the energy saving target for 2025. This is not only an achievement in energy management, but also a practical contribution to the province's sustainable development and environmental protection goals.
From a business perspective, a representative from KTG Industrial Dong Nai Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of KTG Industrial, shared: Currently, "sustainability" is one of the top three criteria when businesses choose industrial real estate. Therefore, KTG Industrial is oriented towards development according to ESG standards (environment, society, and sustainability) and aims for net zero carbon by 2050.
Evidence of this can be seen at Nhon Trach 2 Industrial Park (Nhon Trach commune, Dong Nai province), where KTG Industrial Dong Nai Co., Ltd. has implemented a centralized wastewater treatment system; expanded the area of natural light panels on roofs, walls, and windows to save energy. Several other industrial parks are equipped with LED lighting systems; and energy management systems (EMS) allow monitoring of energy efficiency and carbon emissions, while providing early warnings. These applications help reduce operating costs, save energy, reduce emissions, and improve equipment maintenance efficiency, while meeting international standards.
Many companies have invested in upgrading production lines, adopting modern technology, establishing energy management processes, and encouraging workers to practice energy conservation. In particular, many businesses have boldly invested in developing rooftop solar power systems to utilize clean energy sources and reduce dependence on the national grid during peak hours.
In agriculture, drip irrigation, replacing traditional irrigation methods, is being widely adopted by thousands of farmers, contributing to energy-efficient and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. With this method, water is delivered directly to the plant roots, minimizing losses and significantly reducing pump operating time. Beyond energy and water savings, drip irrigation also promotes better plant growth, increasing yield and improving the quality of agricultural products.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, electricity conservation is no longer just an encouraged practice but a mandatory requirement for many. This not only brings economic benefits to electricity users but also contributes to reducing supply pressure and ensuring national energy security. Furthermore, electricity conservation is a civilized and practical habit in protecting the environment, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and aligns with the green and sustainable development goals that Dong Nai province is pursuing.
