The People's Committee of Dong Thap province has approved the plan for managing and exploiting houses and land in 2026. Accordingly, the province plans to lease a total land area of over 33,600m² and a usable floor area of nearly 32,000m² of 32 properties, including the former headquarters of many agencies that became redundant after mergers.
The Land Development Center (under the Department of Agriculture and Environment) is assigned to manage and exploit the land.
Many offices in the central Cao Lanh area, the former administrative district, including: the Provincial Center for Trade, Tourism and Investment Promotion; the Provincial Inspectorate; the Department of Industry and Trade; the Department of Health; the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Provincial Population and Family Planning Sub-department… are expected to be leased through auction.
These properties are leased to organizations and individuals for the purpose of establishing headquarters and offices; business and service establishments in the fields of education and training, vocational training, healthcare, culture, sports, and environment (excluding those prohibited by law or not meeting the business requirements); warehouses, shops, showrooms, and product display areas serving production and business activities (for cooperatives, cooperative unions, and cooperative groups); and facilities for public service activities.
The leasing method is through auction and price listing; the maximum lease term is 5 years.
The projected revenue from the exploitation of houses and land; from the installation of telecommunications facilities on houses and land; and the amount to be remitted to the state budget will be based on the approved rental price list.
According to the Office of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, after a review, the entire province has 511 redundant facilities.
The province has completed the handling of 167 surplus land and buildings, specifically allocating 26 facilities for temporary use by agencies, organizations, and units; converting 2 facilities for cultural, sports, and public purposes; allocating 6 facilities for office buildings and operational centers; and assigning 133 facilities to local organizations with the function of managing and operating housing.
The People's Committee of Dong Thap province has also issued four decisions to transfer surplus equipment from 14 provincial-level units to 20 communes in need to avoid waste.
