In recent days, traffic congestion has been a regular occurrence on Dong Van Cong Street - My Thuy Intersection - Nguyen Thi Dinh Street (Thu Duc City). This is a vital traffic route connecting to Cat Lai Port - where more than 70% of the country's import and export containers are concentrated.
According to the reporter's records at more than 10:00 a.m. on January 17, a nearly 2km section of Dong Van Cong Street (from Mai Chi Tho Street to Cat Lai Port, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) was congested, with hundreds of trucks, container trucks,... lining up on the road.

Sharing with reporters, driver Cao Minh Quoc (38 years old, living in Long Nai province) said that he was transporting goods from Dong Nai to deliver to a warehouse near Cat Lai port. However, when he reached Dong Van Cong street, there was a traffic jam that extended to My Thuy intersection, causing his car to be stuck for more than 30 minutes without being able to exit.
“At the end of the year, many vehicles enter and exit the port to pick up goods, and this often happens at the My Thuy intersection and My Thuy bridge. Traffic congestion like this affects transportation. Before, I could make two trips a day, but now I can only make one trip, which also affects my income,” Mr. Quoc complained.

To minimize congestion, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that the authorities are continuing to monitor each intersection to make timely adjustments and have plans to coordinate and handle situations through rapid response teams with the city and local police.
The City Department of Transport also reviews and adjusts the organization of vehicles participating in traffic by lane (fixed, at different times of the day) to suit the traffic situation in the areas. At the same time, it regularly provides information on the traffic situation in the city center, the Eastern area, and related routes... with high traffic volume so that people can proactively choose the appropriate route...
