The domestic eSports roadmap of CrossFire Vietnam is coming to a decisive moment of the year, with the CFVL 2023 season 2 professional tournament. This is the final tournament of the domestic CrossFire eSports system, and is the place that provides an extremely valuable ticket to represent the country to attend the CFS 2023 world finals at the end of this year.
CFVL 2023 season 2 is expected to start from July 24 with a 3-phase roadmap including:
- 24.7 – 15.9: Round robin group stage with BO2 format.
- 17.9: Play-off round of the 4 teams with the highest points in the group stage, competing in BO3 format.
- 18.9: The final round with BO5 format decides the champion of the tournament.
This tournament will feature 8 CrossFire teams, including 4 teams that remained in the previous season, CRH.2L (reigning champions), Ranking Esports, PG Club, and Genius Esports. They will meet 4 teams that were promoted from the semi-professional tournament CSC 2022 season 2, which are The Last Wolf, Hero King, Pod Sanda, and TT Esports RK.
The teams will share a total prize pool of up to 75,000 USD. The higher the ranking position, the more generous the prize ladder will be, with the champion receiving up to 30,000 USD and a ticket to represent Vietnam to attend the international tournament Crossfire CFS 2023. The second representative ticket to CFS 2023 will be decided through the selection round with the participation of the remaining 3 teams in the top 4 of the tournament.
The current situation of CrossFire CFVL 2023 season 2 teams shows some special points. CRH.2L is still a strong champion waiting for a candidate strong enough to defeat them. Meanwhile, the newly promoted teams from the semi-professional league have young faces like The Last Wolf but also have the return of strong opponents like TT Esports RK.
TT Esports RK was once the runner-up of the professional tournament but was then relegated and had to return to compete in the semi-professional tournament CSC 2023 season 2. However, the form is temporary, they are still capable of quickly winning a ticket back to the professional arena. In addition, TT Esports RK is also the second representative of the Ranking brand when another team on the relegation list also carries this brand, Ranking Esports.
After 3 years of planning according to the new model, the professional tournament CrossFire CFVL has witnessed significant development in quality. In addition to the strong young teams from the amateur tournament to the professional tournament, the tournament has also witnessed the expansion of strong teams.
In recent seasons, many big brand names such as Ranking, Hero King… have appeared in the amateur and semi-professional areas, with secondary teams trying to gain more positions in the professional league. Thanks to the vibrant competitive atmosphere and fierce selection, the Crossfire eSports tournament system has maintained a good development momentum in recent years.
