Forecasts indicate that on May 28th, the Northern region (excluding Lai Chau and Dien Bien ) will experience hot weather, with some areas experiencing intense heat. Maximum temperatures will generally range from 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 38 degrees Celsius; minimum relative humidity will generally be between 50-55%.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue city is experiencing intense heat, with some places experiencing exceptionally severe heat, with maximum temperatures commonly ranging from 37-39 degrees Celsius, and some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity is commonly between 45-50%.
The South Central coastal region is experiencing hot and intensely hot weather with maximum temperatures commonly ranging from 36-38 degrees Celsius, and exceeding 38 degrees Celsius in some areas; the lowest relative humidity is commonly between 50-55%.
On May 29th, the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city, and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak experienced hot weather with maximum temperatures generally ranging from 35-36 degrees Celsius, and exceeding 36 degrees Celsius in some places; the lowest relative humidity was generally between 55-60%.
According to the meteorological agency, the widespread heatwave in Northern and North Central Vietnam will end from May 29th. From May 30th, the widespread heatwave will end in the provinces from Quang Tri to Da Nang city and the eastern parts of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak.
Due to the effects of hot weather, intense heat, and exceptionally intense heat combined with low humidity, there is a high risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased electricity demand, and a risk of forest fires.
In extremely hot weather conditions, if people have to go outside, they need to take safe sun protection measures, cover themselves well, and stay adequately hydrated to avoid dehydration and heatstroke from prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
