Coffee prices are forecast to continue rising tomorrow, March 12, 2025.

According to experts, coffee prices may continue to fluctuate in the short term due to persistent supply pressure. However, in the medium term, the market may recover as demand increases again and supply shows signs of decreasing.

In the domestic market, pepper prices continued to rise for the second consecutive day, increasing by 300-500 VND/kg to 130,500-131,500 VND/kg. On the world market, near-term robusta futures prices also saw a slight increase while arabica continued to decline.

According to analysts, current coffee prices are influenced by several factors, with supply from Brazil and Vietnam being key: Although supply is abundant, sales tend to slow down as farmers expect prices to continue rising. In addition, speculative funds are refraining from selling off, helping to stabilize the market. Robusta coffee inventories monitored by ICE have fallen to their lowest level in two months, providing impetus for price increases. Fluctuations in the US dollar also affect commodity prices, including coffee.

Analysts predict that coffee prices may continue to trade sideways or rise slightly in the coming sessions as demand remains stable. However, the market still faces the risk of correction if there is increased profit-taking pressure from investors.

According to Reuters, dry weather in Brazil, the leading producer, remains a concern, but this has been partially reflected in prices. Now, new concerns are emerging about the impact of high prices on demand.

Global coffee traders and roasters say they have cut purchases to a minimum as the industry grapples with a sharp price surge. Meanwhile, suppliers have yet to convince retailers to accept the cuts.
