Sea and air travelers flock to Da Nang as tourists arrive in droves.

(NLĐO) - On the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year), Da Nang City welcomed thousands of tourists.

On January 29th (the first day of the Lunar New Year), the Da Nang City Department of Tourism organized a welcoming ceremony for over 800 tourists aboard the Crystal Symphony cruise ship at Tien Sa Port. The ceremony included lion dances, flower presentations, and souvenir gifts for the visitors.

Tourists on this cruise ship will visit famous destinations such as Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Mountain, the Cham Sculpture Museum, and My Khe Beach in Da Nang City during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025.

Foreign visitors are given conical hats when they arrive in Da Nang on the first day of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake (2015).

At Da Nang airport, the Department of Tourism also organized a welcoming ceremony for the first visitors of the season. There, the tourism industry presented gifts of local specialties such as ginger jam, baked coconut cakes, sesame brittle, etc., to the tourists.

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Da Nang City welcomed more than 140 domestic and international flights, with an estimated 20,000 passengers. Of these, 65 international flights were expected, carrying approximately 10,000 passengers.

Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang City Department of Tourism, said that the activities to welcome tourists on the first day of the year aim to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for visitors.

In 2025, the city's tourism industry will continue to make breakthroughs in tourism development with new and unique products to better serve tourists.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the total number of tourists visiting Da Nang during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Snake (2015) is estimated at over 456,000, an increase of 13.5% compared to the same period in 2024.

Of these, international visitors are estimated at over 221,000, a 25% increase compared to the 2024 holiday period, while domestic visitors are estimated at over 235,000. The overall occupancy rate of accommodation establishments is estimated at around 50%, with 4-5 star and equivalent establishments reaching 60-65%.
