Not only delegates and tourists from outside the province, but even many people from Bac Lieu province had the opportunity to experience and learn more about the salt of their homeland through the festival. Mr. Tran Van Du (Ninh Quoi A commune, Hong Dan district) shared: “Although it was just an experience, I have somewhat felt the hardships of salt making. I hope that through this festival, the salt industry in my hometown will receive attention and investment, developing sustainably so that the lives of salt farmers will become more stable and prosperous.”
Today, despite the mechanization of many stages in the salt production process to improve quality and yield, salt farmers in Bac Lieu still cherish traditional manual production techniques, ensuring that the salt produced has the following advantages: odorless, not bitter, free from impurities, with a rich salty taste and a sweet aftertaste.

There is a need to connect tours and routes in a structured way for salt field tourism.
During the Vietnam Salt Festival - Bac Lieu 2025, the salt-making experience activities were truly attractive to delegates and tourists. However, to awaken the potential and exploit the strengths of salt field tourism after this Festival, localities with large salt production areas in the province, such as Hoa Binh and Dong Hai, need specific plans to attract tourists. To achieve this, it is necessary to connect with companies, businesses, and associations operating in the tourism sector. At the same time, it is necessary to focus on building synchronous infrastructure, clearly planning the zones, and especially providing accommodation, food, and entertainment facilities. Simultaneously, it is necessary to develop distinctive specialty products from salt, such as herbal salt, beauty salt, and local dishes made with salt, to attract more tourists to the salt fields and develop tourism combined with experiences.
According to tourist Tran My Ha ( Ho Chi Minh City): “I think the salt fields in Dong Hai district have the potential to become an attractive tourist destination. If the local government invests more in infrastructure and develops a specific zoning plan including: experiences and relaxation from products made from salt, accommodation facilities, and homestays… it will attract many tourists.”
For over 100 years, salt-making has been closely linked to the lives and livelihoods of the people, providing a stable source of income and representing a wealth of accumulated folk knowledge passed down through generations. In 2019, the "Bac Lieu Salt" product was once again certified by the Intellectual Property Office for geographical indication protection, thereby affirming the Bac Lieu salt brand in the domestic and international markets. In 2020, the salt-making craft in Bac Lieu was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is believed that in the near future, the salt fields of Bac Lieu will become increasingly well-known and an attractive tourist destination.
