The pristine beauty of Nusa Penida makes it a favorite destination for explorers. With its blue beaches, steep cliffs, mysterious caves and terrifying waterfalls, Nusa Penida offers a feeling that is completely opposite to modern Bali. It can be seen that this is a Nusa Penida tourist destination that no matter how many times you come, you will always have a new experience. The island is well preserved in nature, the roads have been improved in recent years, suitable for driving a motorbike or renting a 4-wheel vehicle to explore every corner.
Kelingking Beach – Legendary Dinosaur Spine

Kelingking Beach is not only a symbol, it is the pinnacle of the Nusa Penida tourist destination image. From the top of the cliff, you can take in the entire dinosaur-shaped beach, with the blue sea in front and the steep cliff behind. To get down to the beach, you have to crawl through a rugged trail with a steep slope, sometimes it seems impossible. But when you set foot on the golden sand below, the sound of waves and fresh air will make all the effort worthwhile. The path down is dangerous with many ropes and slippery rocks, but that is what makes the Nusa Penida travel experience at Kelingking an unforgettable memory. The ideal time to visit is at dawn or dusk, when the soft light highlights the dinosaur's spine shape more clearly.

Check-in experience at Kelingking and safety notes
The trail leading down to Kelingking Beach is challenging but extremely rewarding. (Photo: Collected)
To get the best check-in photo, you need to come at the right time. In low season, the path will be less slippery and the sea will be calm, the light will be warmer than in the early morning. When climbing down to the beach, you should wear non-slip shoes, bring water and consider the difficulty if you are traveling with children. The path down is long and quite steep, so you should go slowly, carefully and always keep a distance from the edge of the cliff. Note that there is no lifeguard or quick medical care on the island, so you should prepare carefully before the trip.
