Bringing propaganda work on seas and islands into depth, making it more widespread, practical and effective

That is one of the key tasks in the upcoming propaganda coordination between the Command of Region 3 and the Propaganda Department of the provinces.

Naval Region 3: Military and people have one will

Naval Region 3 recognizes the contributions of press agencies in coordinating propaganda about seas and islands.

On March 27, 2024, in Quang Tri province, the Naval Region 3 Command in coordination with the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department held a conference to review the coordination of propaganda work on sea and islands in 2023.

The report presented at the Conference stated: In 2023, Naval Region 3 and the Propaganda Department of 6 provincial and municipal Party Committees comprehensively deployed the contents according to the propaganda coordination plan in many forms, new and flexible ways, closely combining propaganda forms with practical activities, responding to developments in the situation, promptly orienting awareness and action for officers, soldiers and people.

Propaganda work was deployed promptly, effectively, in accordance with the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, especially oral propaganda activities, on mass media, competitions, and movements towards the sea, islands, and borders, contributing to raising awareness, responsibility, building trust, affection, and interest of all classes of people, firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Naval Region 3 has closely coordinated with the Propaganda Department of localities to organize delegations of reporters to directly propagate the sea and islands with 43 sessions for more than 10,000 cadres and people; to propagate and attract human resources at 30 high schools and continuingeducation centers for more than 22,200 teachers and students (In 2023, 27 high school students in localities in the Central region passed the entrance exam to the Naval Academy, an increase of 2 students compared to 2022). Coordinated direct propaganda for fishermen on fishing boats combined with visiting and giving gifts to 134 boats with more than 1,900 fishermen. The process of propagating the sea and islands combined with giving 457 national flags, distributing 275 sets of documents, 950 leaflets, 534 life jackets and life buoys and many other essential materials to fishermen in localities...

During the year, newspapers and radio stations published more than 1,300 news, articles and reports reflecting the activities of the Region. Of which, newspapers and radio stations in provinces and cities in the Central region broadcast more than 600 news, articles and reports in special columns, prioritizing the time, volume and frequency of propaganda on the topic of sea and islands. The Propaganda Departments of provinces and cities directed the opening of special pages and columns on sea and islands and directed the promotion of propaganda among cadres and people.

The region has coordinated to organize the transportation of delegations from localities, agencies, organizations, businesses and press and radio agencies to visit, encourage and wish a happy new year to cadres, soldiers and people on Con Co and Ly Son island districts, the forces performing tasks at sea on the occasion of the Spring of Giap Thin 2024; successfully completed the task of transporting 3 working delegations to visit and inspect Truong Sa archipelago and DKI platform. Effectively implemented the program "Navy as a fulcrum for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea", sponsored 12 children of fishermen in difficult circumstances in the provinces from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh. The region has also built and renovated economic, cultural and social infrastructure works in the locality, supported the construction and handover of 01 "House of Gratitude", 01 "House of Great Unity", 06 "Houses of Comrades", organized medical examinations and provided free medicine for nearly 350 policy beneficiaries.

At the conference, delegates exchanged, discussed and shared experiences in propaganda work on the sea and islands, through the contents of the direction and tasks of coordinating propaganda in the coming time. Accordingly, the Command of Region 3 and the Propaganda Department of the provinces will promote the achieved results, constantly expand the target and scope of propaganda; continue to bring the coordination of propaganda work on the sea and islands; propaganda to attract human resources into depth, with more widespread, practical and effective influence.

On this occasion, the Navy awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in coordinating propaganda activities on seas and islands in 2023. Navy Region 3 and the Propaganda Department of 6 provincial and municipal Party Committees organized the signing of a program to coordinate propaganda on seas and islands in 2024. Navy Region 3 Command announced the decision to sponsor 01 student of a fisherman in difficult circumstances, and gave gifts to 20 fishermen in Quang Tri with a total value of more than 80 million VND.
