Panorama of the first sea parade in Vietnam's history

On the morning of September 2, in Cam Ranh sea area ( Khanh Hoa province), the Navy hosted a parade of armed forces at sea with the participation of the Vietnam People's Navy, Vietnam Coast Guard, Border Guard, Standing Militia Fleet and many modern vehicles and equipment.

Commanding the forces parading at sea, on the Command Ship 015 - Tran Hung Dao were Rear Admiral Nguyen Van Bach, Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff of the Navy; Major General Tran Ngoc Huu, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard; Head of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, and representatives of agencies and units representing the participating forces.

At the same time as the flag-raising ceremony took place at Ba Dinh Square, the fleets of ships and aircraft participating in the parade simultaneously saluted the national flag at sea. The image of the red flag with a yellow star fluttering in the middle of the ocean became an indomitable symbol of national will and pride, affirming the responsibility to inherit and promote the heroic traditions of previous generations. In the flag-raising formation, the fleets marched in two vertical rows, and in the middle, at the top, was the Command Ship 015.

The combined strength of the national defense posture and security at sea

Immediately after the flag-raising ceremony, the command ship reviewed the parade formation at sea. The order of review was: DHC6 seaplane squadron, Ka28 anti-submarine helicopters, and the multi-purpose rescue ship squadron, and the Navy's auxiliary ship squadron; the Standing Militia Squadron; the SPA-4207 patrol ship squadron of the Border Guard; the DN-2000 class multi-purpose patrol ship squadron of the Vietnam Fisheries Surveillance and Coast Guard; the TT-400T gunboat squadron, 12418, 1241RE missile boats, Kilo 636 submarines, 159 class anti-submarine frigates, and Gepard 3.9 missile frigates of the Navy.

To affirm the ability to coordinate closely and master the sea and airspace, after the formation review, the squadrons began to deploy A-shaped, V-shaped and diamond-shaped combat formations.

In the A-formation, ships with strong firepower, command ships, combat ships, transport ships, and support ships are distributed in accordance with the capabilities and combat performance of the formation. This is the formation to destroy enemy forces, increase the ability to defend against attacks from the air, sea, and underwater, and firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

In the V-formation, ships with reconnaissance capabilities, strong firepower, transport ships, support ships and command ships are arranged according to combat principles. This formation helps increase the ability to observe and detect targets, destroy enemy forces, and at the same time be ready to respond promptly to enemy attacks, not being passive or surprised in any situation.

The diamond formation is commonly used when marching at sea, increasing the ability to command and coordinate combat to destroy forces that directly threaten the ships in our formation; protecting important ships; preventing surprise attacks from the air and at sea; increasing maritime safety, overcoming mine obstacles, causing difficulties for the enemy.

The parade of armed forces at sea created a majestic picture, demonstrating the combined strength of the national defense posture and people's security at sea. The event also sent a strong message: Vietnam loves peace but is determined and persistent in protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
