Clearly assign responsibilities to each unit to ensure progress of projects serving APEC 2027

On the afternoon and evening of October 23, a working delegation from An Giang province led by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung inspected the progress of projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference in Phu Quoc special zone.

The delegation conducted on-site inspections of the Phu Quoc International Airport expansion project; the APEC Conference Center; the embankment construction and land leveling project for the APEC Conference Center; Cua Can Lake; the DT.975 road (section from DT.973 - Phu Quoc Airport - DT.975 - DT.973); the first section of the urban tram line; and the Phu Quoc International Passenger Port. Following this, the delegation held a meeting with the leaders of the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone and relevant units.

After inspecting the construction projects, the Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, Ho Van Mung, expressed his delight at the noticeable changes in the project's construction. He also acknowledged the effective coordination between the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone government, the Provincial Police, and other relevant agencies in enforcing land reclamation and handing over the land for the construction of key projects.

Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, Ho Van Mung, noted that there is still a large volume of work to be done, requiring agencies and units to focus on continuous implementation, avoiding complacency and negligence that could lead to delays. Regarding future tasks, Chairman Ho Van Mung requested that projects still facing procedural obstacles urgently complete their investment dossiers in accordance with the law.

Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, Ho Van Mung, specifically emphasized the need to accelerate the investment progress of projects such as: the An Thoi centralized wastewater treatment plant, the Duong Dong centralized wastewater treatment plant, the Duong Dong 2 water plant, and the Duong Dong 2 reservoir… Investors must be proactive and responsible for the progress. Simultaneously, resettlement areas and the APEC highway must be urgently implemented to meet overall requirements.

Comrade Ho Van Mung emphasized that serving APEC 2027 is a key political task for the entire system, requiring the synchronized involvement of all levels and sectors. The Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone needs to continue directing and clearly assigning responsibilities to ensure the timely completion of construction projects serving the conference; paying attention to urban aesthetics, land management, and construction order…
