Bringing Quang Ninh's OCOP products to a wider audience.

As the first province in the country to implement the "One Commune, One Product" program, Quang Ninh 's OCOP products are now considered to be of good quality, with diverse designs, building trust with domestic consumers. The province is promoting the development and upgrading of OCOP products, expanding their market in the region and internationally.

In the development roadmap for OCOP products, various levels, sectors, and localities in the province have implemented numerous solutions, yielding noteworthy results. For example, since the end of 2020, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has implemented QR Code applications for agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, including OCOP products, in the province. This helps ensure quality and protect product brands. By simply scanning the code with a phone when purchasing a product, consumers can access complete information about the production process, the date and time of product release to the market, safety standards, etc. To date, 100% of the province's OCOP products have traceability labels, such as: Dong Trieu glutinous rice, Hang Nga tea, Hai Ha wild duck, Dong Trieu enoki mushrooms, Binh Lieu vermicelli, Quang Hanh mineral water, Quy Hoa golden flower tea…

The province has implemented mechanisms and policies, and allocated resources to support the development of OCOP products in localities. To date, the province has provided over 4.6 billion VND in support for OCOP product development, including website development for advertising and sales, production, and the establishment of ISO, HACCP, and GMP management systems. It has also supported industrial promotion efforts in localities to invest in facilities and machinery for processing OCOP products for 19 projects, with funding exceeding 4.3 billion VND. In addition, the province has actively promoted, encouraged, and supported OCOP producers to proactively implement and apply science and technology to production, thereby improving product quality.

Currently, the entire province has 339 OCOP products from 13 localities that have achieved 3-5 stars.

Every year, the province organizes the evaluation and ranking of OCOP products. This creates high-quality products that meet standards, have attractive and modern packaging, and clear traceability. Simultaneously, it forms product value chains, focusing on key products, to reach domestic and international markets, elevating the OCOP program into a strong provincial brand nationwide, and gradually expanding into regional and international markets.

Along with developing OCOP products, the province focuses on upgrading product ratings, especially 5-star OCOP products that possess distinctive characteristics, high standards, quality, and export value. This contributes to elevating the local OCOP status, building distinctive brands, and expanding consumer markets. To date, Quang Ninh has developed 4 national-level 5-star OCOP products, and 6 potential 5-star products have had their dossiers completed and submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for appraisal: Ba Che Golden Flower Tea (Dap Thanh Forestry Products Trading Joint Stock Company); Oyster Paste (Quang Ninh Aquatic Products Production and Trading Company Limited); Yen Tu Plum Wine (Thang Long Production, Service and Trading Company Limited); Quang Hanh Natural Mineral Water (Quang Hanh Trade Union Mineral Water Company Limited); Dong Bac 7-Leaf Gynostemma Tea Health Supplement, and Dong Bac Vien An Duong Health Supplement (Dong Bac Medicinal Herb Cultivation, Production and Processing Company Limited).

The Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Summer 2024 attracted nearly 56,000 visitors and shoppers, generating revenue of 17.9 billion VND.

Mr. Pham Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of Quang Hanh Trade Union Mineral Water Company, said: "We are honored that Quang Hanh natural mineral water has been selected as a typical OCOP product for consideration for a 5-star national rating. We have completed the application process and are awaiting the results. The company hopes that the product will achieve a 5-star rating to contribute to 'raising the level' of OCOP products in Quang Ninh, helping the Quang Ninh OCOP brand gradually reach further. Along with that, the company will continue to invest in more machinery to develop the product, strengthen market access, increase sales volume, and gradually aim for export in the near future."

To date, the province has 339 OCOP products from 13 localities that have achieved 3-5 stars, including 293 3-star products, 93 4-star products, and 4 5-star products; there are 218 producers of OCOP products, including 55 enterprises, 89 cooperatives, and 74 households. Most of the products that have been awarded stars continue to develop strongly, maintaining and improving food safety and quality standards; 100% of 3-5 star OCOP products are listed on the e-commerce platform https://www.ocopquangninh.com.vn; packaging and labels are gradually being improved, upgraded, and printed with complete information as required.

The province is continuing to promote the development and standardization of OCOP products, contributing to the restructuring of the agricultural sector, developing production towards concentrated commodity production, building brands, increasing product value, and expanding consumer markets.

Speaking at the review meeting on the implementation of the OCOP Program for the first seven months of 2024, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Provincial OCOP Program Steering Committee, requested that departments, agencies, and localities continue to strengthen coordination, support, and widespread dissemination of information to OCOP product producers to proactively improve product quality, design, and packaging. He emphasized the need to focus on developing production area planning, controlling and protecting product brands, creating product linkage chains, and improving the quality of the OCOP monitoring team. He also called for continued review and implementation of loan support from the Social Policy Bank under Resolution No. 111/2024/QH15 to develop OCOP products. A comprehensive review and proper positioning of key OCOP products were also required to move towards concentrated commodity production. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of standardizing production processes for raw materials, processing, and packaging, linking them with intellectual property rights. Simultaneously, strengthen industrial and agricultural promotion efforts, promote and advertise products at sales points; link digital transformation with finding and expanding markets for OCOP products...
