'Dune 2' reaches 500 million USD, Vietnam enters top 5 revenue of 'Kung Fu Panda 4'

Dune 2 's international box office as of Sunday (March 17) is $289.4 million, plus a North American haul of more than $208 million, bringing the film's global total to nearly $500 million, surpassing Villeneuve's 2021 Dune (also from Villeneuve) - reaching $435 million.

Dune 2 grossed $1.7 million in Japan, including previews; 22% higher than Dune 's opening weekend.

Mexico saw Kung Fu Panda 4 gross $13.6 million, including previews. Germany grossed $4.2 million, matching the first Kung Fu Panda and more than double Kung Fu Panda 3. India opened Kung Fu Panda 4 with $1.5 million at 1,295 theaters.

Deadline.com reported that in Vietnam, Kung Fu Panda 4 has surpassed Frozen 2 , Elemental , The Jungle Book , Aladdin , Despicable Me 3 , Secret Life of Pets , Beauty and the Beast , Puss in Boots 2 , Sing ... when it brought in the biggest opening weekend revenue ever for an animated film in this market, currently earning 3.7 million USD.

The top 5 countries with the highest Kung Fu Panda 4 revenue so far are Mexico ($13.6 million), Spain ($5.1 million), Germany ($4.2 million), Indonesia ($3.8 million) and Vietnam ($3.7 million).

Dune 2 is currently showing in Vietnam, earning 34.7 billion VND, after Kung Fu Panda 4 (96.4 billion VND) and Exhuma: Tomb Raider (91.5 billion VND), according to Box Office Vietnam.
