Emirates flight EK243 took off on 5 July with more than 340 passengers, including senior executives and journalists. The daily flights to Montréal, along with the seven weekly flights to Toronto, bring Emirates’ total destinations in North America to 14 and across the Americas to 18.
The new route to Montreal will make it easier for passengers from countries such as Lebanon, India, Iran, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and South Africa to fly to Canada via Dubai.
The direct flight between Dubai and Montreal is expected to meet the diverse needs of many customer groups, including business and leisure travelers, as well as those wishing to visit family and friends, including Canadians living and working in the UAE.
Montréal is home to some of the world's top universities, so flights to Montréal are expected to become extremely popular and convenient for students from the Middle East, West-Central Asia and East Asia.
Emirates will operate a triple-decker Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to serve the route, featuring eight private First Class suites, 42 Business Class lie-flat seats and more than 300 spacious Economy Class seats on daily flights.
