The second round of matches in Group A of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup ended with the following results: Palmeiras beat Al Ahly 2-0, while Inter Miami defeated Porto 2-1. In the final match, Botafogo will face Atletico Madrid, while PSG will face Seattle Sounders FC. Botafogo only needs 1 point against Atletico Madrid to secure a ticket to the next round as the top team. Similarly, PSG only needs to beat Seattle Sounders FC to almost certainly enter the next round.
Another possible scenario is that Atletico Madrid wins against Botafogo, and PSG defeats Seattle Sounders FC. In that case, all three teams, Atletico Madrid, PSG and Botafogo, will have 6 points. The three teams will then face each other to determine who advances. Of these, Atletico Madrid is the team at the biggest disadvantage, having lost 0-4 to PSG.
