According to Allkpop, Fifty Fifty officially became the first Kpop girl group to enter the Top 10 of the United Kingdom's Official Singles Charts with the song "Cupid".

This is also the highest ranking of a Kpop girl group (including songs in collaboration with international artists) on the international chart.

Fifty Fifty continues to break BlackPink's record

Previously, "Cupid" had its 6th consecutive week on the Hot 100, surpassing BlackPink to become the Kpop girl group with the longest-charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 in history.

In 2020, Blackpink's "Sour Candy" featuring Lady Gaga set a record for a K-pop girl group at No. 17. In 2022, Blackpink's "Pink Venom" was the highest-charting non-collaboration song by a K-pop girl group, at No. 22.

However, besides the impressive international achievements, the plagiarism suspicion related to "Cupid" has caused a stir in public opinion for many days.

Specifically, on April 27, Turkish artist Evrencan Gündüz raised questions about the similarity between "Cupid" and the song "Sen Aşkımızdan" he released in 2018.

Evrencan Gündüz tagged Fifty Fifty's account in the post to demand a response from the group's management company.

On May 5, The Attrakt - the management company of the group Fifty Fifty, announced that the unit had contacted the original producer group of the song Cupid including Adam Von Mentzer, Mac Felländer-Tsai, and Louise Udin.

"Regarding the plagiarism suspicion surrounding Fifty Fifty's single "Cupid" that has recently been discussed in the media, the company has verified with the original producers of "Cupid" (Adam Von Mentzer, Mac Felländer-Tsai, Louise Udin) and received the following response:

We were not aware of that Turkish song. Due to the nature of the music, there are similarities, but we do not think it is plagiarism," The Attrakt told Nocut News.

When asked if the company had contacted Turkish singer Evrencan Gündüz, who made the plagiarism accusation, Attrakt replied that they had not.

The Attrakt’s response still did not calm public opinion. Many people believe that the company has not actually contacted the Turkish singer to verify thoroughly. Denying the accusation after only hearing the answer from one side is considered unprofessional.

Korean media commented that if The Attrakt does not properly resolve this plagiarism suspicion, this will be a "stain" that will follow the group Fifty Fifty throughout their future journey.
