The FTSE Vietnam Index removes FRT and VTP, and adds three more blue-chip stocks.

The FTSE Vietnam Index added three large-cap stocks this period, including BID, FPT, and STB.

FTSE Russell has just announced the list of constituent stocks for the third quarter 2025 review of the FTSE Vietnam Index and FTSE Vietnam All-Share, with some significant changes.  

Accordingly, the FTSE Vietnam Index has removed two stocks: FRT ofFPT Digital Retail Joint Stock Company and VTP of Viettel Post Joint Stock Company.

Instead, three large-cap stocks were added: BID (Vietnam Investment and Development Bank), FPT (FPT Corporation), and STB (Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Bank).

In addition, BID was also added to the FTSE Vietnam All-Share Index this period, along with HAG shares of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group.

Conversely, three stocks, NAB (Nam A Commercial Bank), PVT (Vietnam Petroleum Transport Corporation), and SBT (Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company), were simultaneously removed from the index.

Changes to the composition of the FTSE Vietnam All-Share Index.

A noteworthy point this period comes from the FTSE Vietnam ETF. According to asset management company DWS, the FTSE Vietnam ETF will change its name from Xtrackers FTSE Vietnam Swap UCITS ETF to Xtrackers Vietnam Swap UCITS ETF.

Along with that, this investment fund, with total assets of $352 million, will change its underlying benchmark index from FTSE Vietnam to STOXX Vietnam Total Market Liquid. This is a stock index designed to measure the performance of highly liquid stocks on the Vietnamese stock market. The index is developed and managed by STOXX Ltd.

According to DWS's announcement, this change aims to improve liquidity compared to the previous index. The transition period runs from July 17, 2025 to October 16, 2025.

During the transition period, the fund's portfolio may be partially transferred through swap transactions on both the current and new indices.

On September 12, 2025, the MarketVector Vietnam Local Index (referenced by the VanEck Vectors Vietnam ETF) will announce its new index portfolio. The restructuring of the entire ETF portfolio based on this index is expected to be completed on September 19, 2025.

According to BSC's forecast, FPT stock will be added to this index. Recently, this stock was also included in the MSCI Frontier Markets Indexes in the August 2025 review.
