On the morning of May 14th, 1,363 fifth-grade students who had completed their primary school program in Ha Tinh participated in a competency assessment test for admission to the sixth grade at Le Van Thiem Secondary School (Thanh Sen ward) for the 2026-2027 school year.

Compared to the previous school year, this year the number of candidates registering for the aptitude test increased by nearly 300, while the enrollment quota is only 240, resulting in a competition ratio of 1 in 5.67. This shows the growing appeal of Le Van Thiem Secondary School, and also makes the competition for a place in grade 6 more intense for the candidates.
The competency assessment was conducted at two locations: Le Van Thiem Secondary School and Nguyen Du Secondary School (Thanh Sen Ward).

This morning, at 7:20 AM, candidates began entering the examination rooms. The test will assess candidates' abilities across three areas: mathematical and logical thinking skills, reading comprehension and essay writing skills, and English proficiency. The test format combines multiple-choice and essay questions, with a time limit of 90 minutes.
The content of the competency assessment test is based on the primary school curriculum, primarily the current Grade 5 curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Training. The test questions ensure that all cognitive levels are met, including recognition, comprehension, and application.

Admission to the school will be based on the results of a competency test, with a 10-point scale for each section and bonus points for priority candidates.
The results are expected to be announced on May 21st.
