On the evening of July 26, the Provincial Youth Union organized a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the provincial martyrs' cemetery on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024). Attending the ceremony were representatives of provincial departments and branches and nearly 1,500 union members and youth representing more than 350,000 ethnic youth in Dak Lak province.
In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, delegates, union members and youth respectfully bowed and silently remembered the great President Ho Chi Minh ; the heroic martyrs who bravely sacrificed for national independence and freedom, for the happiness of the people and bid farewell to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade H' Giang Nie - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union shared: Dak Lak is proud to be a heroic land, where many generations of people have spared no effort, not afraid of hardships, directly fought, built a solid rear, supplied food, transported ammunition to the battlefield, sheltered and protected revolutionary cadres. Many people have fallen on their motherland, forever carrying wounds. To commemorate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the youth of the whole province launched a peak activity week of "Repaying gratitude", "Drinking water, remembering its source" (from July 20 to 27), through which 54 gratitude activities were organized; 43 activities to clean memorial steles and martyrs' cemeteries with the participation of more than 1,900 union members and youth; presented 143 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families with meritorious services to the revolution with a total value of more than 223 million VND...

On behalf of the youth of the whole province, the Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union expressed his sincere respect, remembrance and deep gratitude for the great contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh and the heroes, martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and families with meritorious services to the revolution. At the same time, he called on the youth of the province to follow the example of the heroes and martyrs, deeply engrave the teachings of Uncle Ho and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, promote the spirit of vanguard on the front of building and defending the Fatherland, join hands to build new rural areas, strive to overcome limitations and difficulties; unite, be creative, volunteer, foster patriotism, build noble ideals, cultural lifestyle, constantly study, strive to improve virtue and talent, strive to build the homeland of Dak Lak, the Fatherland of Vietnam to become more civilized and beautiful.
The provincial martyrs' cemetery is the resting place of 2,376 soldiers and martyrs who fought and heroically sacrificed for the nation's independence and freedom and noble international duty.
After the ceremony, delegates, union members and youth respectfully offered flowers, incense and lit candles at all martyrs' graves to commemorate their contributions and express their respect and gratitude for the noble sacrifices of the heroes who fell for the cause of national liberation and the happiness of the people.

The Candle Lighting Ceremony is an annual activity held on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day. The activity was held simultaneously on the evening of July 26, at 14 martyrs' cemeteries in the province. The Candle Lighting Ceremony shows the gratitude of the youth, of the people who enjoy a peaceful life with the heroes, martyrs and those who have devoted themselves to the homeland and the country. Thereby, it reminds each member and youth of national pride, thereby clearly defining the ideal of life, determination to strive to study, practice, actively work, be creative, and contribute intelligence and effort to build the homeland and the country to develop more and more sustainably, richly and civilizedly.
