Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Deputy Head of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board chaired the training course. Also attending were representatives of relevant departments, branches and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of districts, cities and towns where the Southeast Economic Zone is located; representatives of 150 enterprises, representatives of the management of industrial parks in the Southeast Economic Zone.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Deputy Head of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board Based on the review of the investment attraction situation, especially FDI attraction in the province in recent times; the investment and production situation in industrial parks and environmental issues arising after enterprises come into operation and production, thereby emphasizing the need to update and supplement new regulations of the Law on Environmental Protection for enterprises.
Within 1 day, the trainees were directly conveyed and explained by lecturers and reporters from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment , Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Department of Pollution Control and Ms. Nguyen An Thuy - Department of Environment, the practical and legal basis of the new regulations and sanctions in the Law on Environmental Protection 2020. Accordingly, the Law has many new breakthrough regulations, so localities, businesses and people must know to implement.

Specifically, the Law has new regulations on the process of collecting and treating solid waste; technical standards for waste treatment in localities; risks of environmental pollution from solid waste discharged by enterprises and industrial zones; methods of treatment, transportation, import and export related to industrial waste and scrap; methods of sampling, analysis and monitoring; basis for classifying solid waste subject to fees and non-fees; regulations of the international community and countries on solid waste management and treatment; trends in waste treatment according to circular processes, reducing emissions; reasons why the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has not approved new investment projects for waste treatment using landfill or incinerator technology in the past time...

At this conference, through the form of questions and answers, the reporters also answered questions that business representatives and investors in industrial park infrastructure were interested in; surrounding the new regulations of the Law on Environmental Protection directly related to the production and business activities of enterprises.
In addition, experts also disseminated regulations on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of environmental protection stipulated in Decree No. 45/2022/ND-CP dated July 7, 2022 of the Government .

This conference is also a forum for agencies and businesses to share and resolve difficulties and problems in the process of implementing legal regulations on environmental protection. The Law on Environmental Protection 2020 has many new points compared to regulations in previous periods. Therefore, this conference is meaningful in contributing to promoting and supporting businesses in implementing regulations on environmental protection.
