Nearly 300 students participated in the 2nd Secondary School Volleyball Tournament

On the morning of May 23, at Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, Lao Cai City People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the 2nd Secondary School Volleyball Tournament in 2024.

The tournament attracted nearly 300 students from 18 secondary schools in the city.

The tournament attracted 30 teams (18 boys teams, 12 girls teams) with a total of 295 students from 18 secondary schools in Lao Cai city. The number of participating teams is double that of last year. Notably, this year is the first year attracting 12 girls teams from schools to participate.

Athletes compete in separate men's and women's events. In each event, teams are drawn into groups and compete in a group stage to select the best teams in each group to advance to the next round.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the men's matches took place at Ly Tu Trong Secondary School.

After the opening ceremony, the men's teams competed at the multi-purpose hall of Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, and the women's teams competed at the multi-purpose hall of Bac Lenh Secondary School, Lao Cai city.

The Junior High School Volleyball Tournament has become a useful and meaningful playground, receiving the support of students and parents; enriching physical and mental activities in schools, encouraging the movement of training to improve health in order to compete in training and studying well. This tournament was held after students completed their subjects and graduated from grade 9, thus creating a healthy and meaningful playground, encouraging and motivating students to continue maintaining physical activities and sports during the summer.

The closing ceremony and awards ceremony are expected to take place on the afternoon of May 24.
