Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province, has just signed and issued a plan for the development of waterway tourism in Hau Giang province.
The purpose of developing this tourism model is to effectively implement the objectives of Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU dated November 26, 2021, of the Provincial Party Committee on the development of industry, agriculture , urban areas, and tourism in Hau Giang province for the period 2021-2025 and subsequent years.

Leveraging and maximizing the advantages of the province's river and canal system to develop waterway tourism products, providing the market with new tourism products, and enhancing the visitor experience in Hau Giang.
Focus on exploiting the potential and strengths of waterway tourism, developing services, and creating attractive tourism products to attract and meet the needs of domestic and international tourists visiting Hau Giang province.
Develop intra-provincial and inter-provincial tourism routes; invest in infrastructure, services, and destinations along inland waterway tourism routes, contributing to the preservation and promotion of cultural and historical values to serve tourism development, create jobs and income for local people.
Objective: To focus on exploiting the potential and strengths of waterway tourism, developing services, creating attractive tourism products, and attracting and meeting the needs of domestic and international tourists visiting Hau Giang province.
By 2024, the goals include: developing waterway tourism along the Xa No canal; investing in the construction of a wharf and passenger terminal on the Cai Con river route connected to the Nga Bay floating market; and developing two tourist boats to serve tourists.
The goal for the period 2025-2030 is to build two wharves on the Xa No canal and along the Hau River, forming a fleet of boats to serve tourists on waterway tourism routes; and to link waterway tourism routes with neighboring provinces and cities such as Can Tho , Soc Trang, and Kien Giang...
The total estimated funding for the project is nearly 60 billion VND, sourced from the state budget, social contributions, and other legitimate funding sources.
