Nearly 99% of Me Linh voters agree with the plan to arrange new administrative units.

High public consensus

According to Me Linh District Party Secretary Nguyen Thanh Liem, the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units in the city has been reviewed and approved by the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee with 126 communes and wards; of which, Me Linh district has 4 administrative units. The arrangement of the number of commune-level administrative units has been studied by the city to ensure harmony based on the planning of the Prime Minister, regional planning, city planning, urban and rural planning, traffic planning, administrative boundary maps, current routes of existing communes, socio-economic development strategies of each locality approved by competent authorities, as well as on the basis of history, culture, tradition, religion, national defense, security, geographical conditions, nature, culture, and population. This arrangement also expands the space for stable development for hundreds of years, has a long-term strategic nature, bringing the country into a new era. The name of the new commune-level administrative unit has been carefully researched and considered by the city, ensuring convenience for administrative transactions as well as preserving local traditions, history and culture.

According to Head of the District Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Trinh Thi Hong Ngan, in order to create consensus among cadres, party members and people on the arrangement of administrative units, the District Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department together with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee have directed socio-political organizations, agencies and units in the propaganda sector to step up propaganda and dissemination to cadres, party members, union members, association members and people about the purpose and significance of the arrangement of administrative units according to the policies of the central government and the city, in order to ensure the rights of the people, for the development of the country... At the same time, strengthen monitoring, grasp the ideological situation, and orient public opinion in the process of implementing the arrangement and reorganization of administrative units at all levels; promptly refute false and hostile information and arguments.

In addition to propaganda on the radio system, Party cell activities, village and residential group meetings, the district also directly inspected a number of points to collect people's opinions in communes and towns on the afternoon of April 20. Thereby, the leaders of Me Linh district highly appreciated the active participation of Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in implementing the policy of rearranging administrative units.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, Residential Group No. 3, Chi Dong town shared that he was informed by officials about the plan to arrange administrative units. In the future, Chi Dong town will merge with Quang Minh town and some other communes to form Quang Minh commune. He strongly agrees with this policy, hoping that this will be a new driving force for the development of his hometown and country.

As for Ms. Tran Thi Thu, Thanh Diem village, Tien Thinh commune, the establishment of Tien Thang commune is a completely reasonable policy, helping to streamline the administrative apparatus, creating conditions for the capital and the country to develop more prosperously. Ms. Thu hopes that the city will select virtuous and talented officials to lead and manage the socio-economic development of the locality to grow more and more, and improve the people's lives.

On behalf of his family, Mr. Pham Duc Tai, village 2, Ha Loi, Me Linh commune, signed the opinion form, saying: "The policy of arranging administrative boundaries and the names of the four new administrative units, namely: Me Linh, Yen Lang, Quang Minh, Tien Thang, all reflect the cultural and historical traditions of the homeland of Hai Ba Trung."

The whole political system is involved.

According to Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Le Van Khuong, organizing the collection of public opinions on the arrangement of administrative units in the district is an important task with a short implementation time. Therefore, the important task ahead is for the district to focus on completing the collection of public opinions on the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units and the new name.

Secretary of the Quang Minh Town Party Committee Pham Anh Tuan shared that the Party Committee clearly assigned people, tasks, and responsibilities in implementing the collection of public opinions. Notably, the locality selected prestigious, capable, enthusiastic, and responsible people to participate in the group distributing ballots to collect public opinions. On the afternoon of April 20, the Party Committee directed the Town People's Committee to mobilize forces and simultaneously distribute ballots to collect public opinions in 11/11 residential groups. As a result, by 9:00 p.m. on April 20, the locality had basically completed collecting opinions from household voter representatives with high results.

Similarly, in Thach Da commune, implementing the direction of the District People's Committee, on April 19, the People's Committee of Thach Da commune issued a decision to establish 4 groups to collect people's opinions with 65 members in charge of 4 villages. The vote counting results showed that the people of Thach Da commune basically agreed with the arrangement plan and the new names of the 4 communes.

To date, all 17/17 communes and towns of Me Linh district have completed collecting opinions from 100% of voters representing households. As a result, the number of voters representing households agreeing with the plan to arrange the current 17 communes and towns into 4 new administrative units reached 98.7%; the number of voters representing households agreeing with the name of the new administrative units reached 98.23%.

Chairman of Me Linh District People's Committee Hoang Anh Tuan said that the consultation with the people has been carried out by Me Linh District to ensure democracy and transparency. "The rearrangement of commune-level administrative units is not simply an administrative merger, but a strategic step to build a streamlined, effective and efficient apparatus; expand development space, mobilize and maximize local potential and strengths, towards building a government close to the people, serving the people better", emphasized Chairman of Me Linh District People's Committee Hoang Anh Tuan.
