The story takes place in the Xu Xu Mi trading family around 1905 - 1945.

On New Year's Day, which is also the birthday of the owner Xi Zu (Tuong Van), suddenly the little girl Kay, while hiding from her aunt who was planning to sell her to a brothel, entered their house.

Pitying the innocent 16-year-old girl's situation, the owner let her stay and work as a maid.

Kay is intelligent, hard-working, and eager to learn, while the owner's children are indifferent to business.

She arranged for Kay to marry her eldest son Xin Ta Ro (Quoc Thao) even though Kay and Ay Di had feelings for each other before.
