Dong Nai aims for average GRDP growth of over 10%/year

In the 2025-2030 period, Dong Nai sets a target of double-digit growth, an average GRDP growth rate of over 10%/year, becoming a dynamic growth pole, a center of industry, services, logistics, modern tourism and high-tech agriculture of the Southern region and the whole country.

Many outstanding marks of the 2021-2025 term

In the 2025-2030 term, Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee sets a target of double-digit growth, with an average GRDP growth rate of over 10% per year, becoming a dynamic growth pole.

On the afternoon of October 30, after 2 days of urgent, serious and responsible work, the 1st Congress of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, successfully concluded with voting and resolutions on the contents of the congress.

In his closing speech, Provincial Party Secretary Vu Hong Van said the congress was a great success. The entire Party, government, army and people of Dong Nai are determined to take advantage of the golden opportunity to make a breakthrough in growth, build Dong Nai into a green, prosperous, civilized and modern city, and strive to achieve the basic targets of a centrally-run city by 2030.

During the 2020-2025 term, Dong Nai has experienced many difficulties and challenges, especially in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, with the spirit of solidarity of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Dong Nai have resolutely deployed flexible and effective solutions to successfully implement the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels. The work of Party building and political system building has been focused and has clearly changed. Notably, the economy has had quite a development step, with an average growth rate of 7.11%/year; total GRDP reaching nearly 700,000 billion VND; GRDP per capita in 2025 is estimated at 153.7 million VND/person (more than 6,000 USD). The economic structure has clearly shifted in the right direction, with the proportion of industry, construction, trade and services accounting for 77.26%.

Agriculture develops strongly in a clean, organic direction, applying high technology; developing industrial zones and clusters in an ecological direction; high-tech industry and agricultural product processing industry are among the leading groups in the country in terms of quantity and scale of industrial zones; maintaining a trade surplus of goods, with export turnover in the 2021-2025 period reaching over 168 billion USD.

National key projects in the area, such as: Long Thanh International Airport, highways, belt roads connecting with Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast region, the Central Highlands and seaports... are being implemented, creating new momentum for breakthrough development. The new rural construction program has achieved outstanding results, Dong Nai ranks first in the country in the number of communes meeting the model new rural standards, and second in the number of communes meeting the advanced new rural standards.

The cultural and social fields have many positive changes, social security policies are guaranteed, people's lives have been significantly improved; the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province (with over 2,000 houses) has been completed early; the poverty rate is only 0.26%.

National defense and security were strengthened, political and social stability was maintained, and social order and safety were ensured. The friendship and comprehensive cooperation with the provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia were maintained and effectively promoted, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly and developed border.

The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system has achieved many results, with many new and creative approaches. Focusing on leadership and direction to complete the historic task of reorganizing the apparatus and administrative units; gradually operating the 2-level local government model effectively. Administrative reform and digital transformation have had positive changes.

Dong Nai ranked 3rd out of 34 provinces and cities in terms of service index for people and businesses, and is among the top provinces and cities in the country in terms of digital transformation level.

Taking Long Thanh airport as the driving force to "take off"

Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Vu Hong Van emphasized that in the 2025-2030 term, the entire Party Committee, government, army and people of Dong Nai are determined to overcome difficulties and challenges, take advantage of golden opportunities for breakthrough growth, build Dong Nai to develop green, rich, civilized, modern, and strive to achieve the basic targets of a centrally-run city by 2030.

The political report of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee at the Congress identified 5 development perspectives, 8 key tasks, and 3 breakthrough tasks to promote strong development in the next 5 years. The general goal is to build Dong Nai province to develop green, rich, civilized, modern, becoming the driving force for development of the Southeast region and the whole country; striving to basically meet the standards of a centrally-run city by 2030.

The political report identifies 29 major targets on party building, economy, socio-culture, natural resources and environment, national defense and security, closely following the direction of the Ministry of Finance. In particular, strive for an average GRDP growth rate of 10% - 12%/year; average GRDP per capita of over 250 million VND; digital economy proportion of over 30% GRDP; urbanization rate of 55%; universal health insurance; 70% of communes meeting new rural standards, of which at least 10% meeting modern new rural standards; 80% of schools meeting national standards...

Dong Nai aims to build Long Thanh into a global airport city

Notably, in the 2025-2030 term, Dong Nai aims to build Long Thanh into a global airport city, an international logistics center, high-tech industry, and global trade and services.

Accordingly, Long Thanh aims to develop on three breakthrough pillars: forming a multimodal logistics center, connecting air - sea - road, linked with ICD, cold storage, distribution center, creating momentum for Long Thanh to reach international level.

Logistics and supporting industry zone; trade and service zone; high-tech and innovation zone; airport urban zone and international services zone.

Building a green belt around the airport, developing ecological and circular industrial zones, using renewable energy, and applying smart technology in lighting management, waste treatment, and noise and emission reduction.

Prioritize investment in traffic routes directly connecting airports with seaports, industrial parks, satellite cities, and speed up belt and highway projects.

Build incentive mechanisms, promote public-private cooperation, proactively promote investment, attract ODA capital, FDI and multinational corporations.

Develop training links in logistics, aviation, high technology, policies to attract experts, engineers, and good managers; form a startup and innovation ecosystem. Build modern resettlement areas and social housing for workers; develop education, healthcare, cultural and sports institutions to meet community and integration needs.
