Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices today, May 3, 2025, in the Central Highlands region decreased sharply compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 126,600 - 127,200 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 127,200 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, coffee price in Dak Lak province is 127,200 VND/kg, down 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province dropped sharply by VND4,000/kg and were traded at VND127,000/kg.
In Lam Dong province, coffee prices dropped sharply by VND4,000/kg to VND126,600/kg.

Dak Nong province, the coffee capital with over 143,000 hectares of cultivated area and an output of over 360,000 tons, is being severely affected by climate change. Phenomena such as unseasonal rains, drought during the growing stage, and prolonged rains during harvest have caused significant losses to farmers.
To support coffee growers in overcoming weather risks, the “Comprehensive Insurance for Coffee Plants” program has been implemented in Dak Nong. The program, implemented by MSIG Vietnam in collaboration with Hillridge Technology (Australia), uses weather index technology to assess losses instead of requiring farmers to prove their losses.
The rainfall insurance program has now expanded to 18 provinces and cities across the country. With a fee of VND5,000/day, people can receive compensation of up to VND6 million. When there is a lack of rainfall in the coffee growing area during the insurance period, farmers only need to send information from their phones to receive quick support.

The downward pressure on coffee prices is mainly due to the strong performance of the US dollar. The US Dollar Index (DXY) increased by 0.3 points to 100.23 points, surpassing the 100 level for the first time in three weeks. The USD recovered thanks to the return of buying pressure after a period of selling, along with investor optimism about the possibility of the US reaching trade agreements with India, South Korea and Japan.
In addition, according to the Vietnam Commodity Exchange (MXV), concerns about future consumption demand from large corporations such as Starbucks, Hershey and Mondelez also put pressure on prices of industrial raw materials, especially coffee.
On the New York Stock Exchange, certified washed Arabica coffee stocks rose by 7,407 bags (60kg) on May 1, or 0.91%, bringing total stocks to 821,075 bags. The bulk of these stocks, about 92.3%, are in Europe.
