Coffee price forecast for tomorrow, December 21 , 2024
In yesterday's trading session, world coffee prices on both exchanges fell sharply. The main reason was the strong rise of the US dollar just before the year-end holiday, forcing speculators to sell off their holdings instead of holding them.

In addition, in the early hours of December 20th in the US market, the US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the fluctuations of the US dollar against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), increased by 0.37%, reaching 108.40. The USD is currently fluctuating near its highest level in two years, after the US Federal Reserve (Fed) announced its decision to cut interest rates and projected a slower pace of monetary policy easing in 2025.
In Vietnam, this year's coffee harvest has brought an atmosphere of excitement. Coffee prices have risen sharply, ranging from 100,000 to 120,000 VND/kg. For farmers, this is not only a bountiful harvest in terms of economic value but also a great source of encouragement, giving them confidence in the future of coffee cultivation in the highlands.
This year's weather has also been erratic, with prolonged heatwaves and storms, creating difficulties for coffee growers and leading to a significant decrease in yield. Fortunately, coffee prices have risen, partially offsetting these difficulties.
Global coffee market analysts believe that the significant fluctuations in world coffee prices are a major factor affecting coffee production and value in producing countries, including Vietnam. However, according to experts, coffee prices are unlikely to fall further tomorrow, December 21, 2024.
