On July 25, rubber prices on major exchanges reversed and decreased due to stable supply and high inventory levels, which overwhelmed optimism in the automobile industry. Domestically, rubber prices did not record any new fluctuations.
World rubber price
At the end of this morning's trading session, the price of RSS 3 rubber futures for August on the Osaka Exchange (OSE) - Japan decreased slightly by 0.3% (equivalent to 1 Yen), down to 329 Yen/kg.
In China, the price of natural rubber futures for August delivery on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) also decreased by 0.6% (95 yuan) compared to the previous trading session, reaching 14,900 yuan/ton.
Similarly, the price of RSS 3 rubber futures for August delivery in Thailand continued to decrease slightly by 0.4% (equivalent to 0.29 Baht), down to 73.28 Baht/kg.
Japanese rubber futures edged down after four straight sessions of gains, as steady supplies and high inventories offset optimism in the auto industry, Reuters reported.
Although domestic demand for rubber tires has improved, tire companies still have large inventories, reducing the need for additional imports, said China's Natural Rubber Network, a rubber trading website.
Domestic rubber price
In the domestic market, rubber prices did not record any new fluctuations. Specifically, Phu Rieng Company offered to purchase mixed latex at 380 VND/DRC; the purchase price of liquid latex reached 410 VND/TSC.
Ba Ria Rubber Company, the purchase price of liquid latex remains stable at 385 VND/TSC degree/kg (applied to TSC degree from 25 to under 30); DRC coagulated latex (35 - 44%) is at 12,300 VND/kg, raw latex is recorded at 15,300 - 16,500 VND/kg.
MangYang Company quotes the purchase price of latex at around 382 - 387 VND/TSC (type 2-type 1); mixed latex is around 336 - 383 VND/DRC (type 2-type 1).
Binh Long Rubber Company currently buys latex at 386 - 396 VND/TSC/kg; mixed latex with 60% DRC is priced at 14,000 VND/kg.
According to the Customs Department, in the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam's rubber exports reached 693,826 tons, worth 1.287 billion USD, down 4.6% in volume but up 16.2% in value compared to the same period in 2024, due to higher prices.
In the first 6 months of the year, the average export price of Vietnam's rubber still increased by 21.85% over the same period in 2024, reaching 1,856 USD/ton.
