Rice prices fluctuated, rising and falling; paddy prices decreased by 200 VND/kg.

Today, July 13th, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region saw a decrease of 200 VND/kg for paddy rice, while milled rice prices showed mixed trends, with raw rice slightly increasing by 50 VND/kg and finished rice slightly decreasing by 50 VND/kg. The rice market has a steady supply and stable trading activity.

The rice market in localities across the Mekong Delta today generally has a steady supply, stable transactions, and diverse quality, with more low-quality rice than high-quality rice. Specifically, in Sa Dec ( Dong Thap ), warehouses are buying at stable prices, rice is arriving steadily, and quality is fairly good. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), rice supply is stable, prices are stable, and transactions are moderate.

According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices today have been adjusted compared to yesterday. Specifically, raw IR 504 summer-autumn rice is priced at 10,650-10,750 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND/kg; finished IR 504 rice has decreased slightly by 50 VND/kg to 12,450-12,550 VND/kg.

Similarly, the price of by-products has been adjusted today compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 rice bran is at 8,800 – 9,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 100 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry rice bran remains at 7,000 – 7,100 VND/kg.

At retail markets, rice prices remain unchanged. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed at the highest price of 20,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice at 18,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice at 20,000 VND/kg; regular white rice fluctuating around 15,000 – 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice at 20,000 – 21,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice at 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice at 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice at 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice at 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice at 22,000 VND/kg.

Regarding rice, observations in various localities show that new rice transactions are slow, farmers are quoting firm prices, and rice prices are stable.

Specifically, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices remain stable: IR 50404 rice fluctuates around 6,700 – 6,900 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice decreased by 200 VND/kg to 7,100 – 7,200 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice remains stable at 6,800 – 7,100 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is priced at 7,000 – 7,200 VND/kg; OM 380 rice fluctuates from 7,200 – 7,300 VND/kg. Nhat rice is at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at 7,600 – 7,700 VND/kg and Nang Nhen (dried) rice is at 20,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the glutinous rice market remained unchanged compared to yesterday. The price of 3-month-old glutinous rice (dry) remained stable at 8,800 VND/kg to 9,000 VND/kg. Additionally, the price for Long An glutinous rice (dry) was 9,000 – 9,200 VND/kg. On the other hand, the price of 3-month-old glutinous rice (fresh) remained stable compared to yesterday at 7,300 – 7,500 VND/kg, and Long An glutinous rice (fresh) continued to be stable today.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices decreased slightly compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice remained stable at US$470/ton; standard 5% broken rice is currently at US$567/ton, down US$1; and 25% broken rice is at US$545/ton.
