The price of live pigs in the Northern region increased by the highest 4,000 VND/kg last week, fluctuating between 59,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.

* Pig prices in the Northern region increased by the highest 4,000 VND/kg last week.

Specifically, after a slight price increase, traders in Ha Nam and Ninh Binh are buying live pigs at 59,000 VND/kg.

Provinces and cities including Nam Dinh, Lao Cai and Hanoi all increased by 2,000 VND/kg, currently trading at 59,000 VND/kg, 60,000 VND/kg and 61,000 VND/kg, respectively.

Pig prices in Bac Giang , Yen Bai, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang fluctuated between 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg, an increase of 3,000 VND/kg.

Live pigs in Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc are being traded at the same level of 62,000 VND/kg, an increase of 4,000 VND/kg. With the same increase, Thai Binh province is currently at the highest level of 63,000 VND/kg.

Today's live pig price in the North fluctuates between 59,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.

* The market price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions adjusted by 1,000 - 3,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Binh Dinh, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan all increased slightly in price, currently ranging from 58,000 - 60,000 VND/kg.

Traders in Dak Lak, Quang Tri and Nghe An are trading live pigs at around 58,000 - 61,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg.

In contrast, the two provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Ngai adjusted the purchase price down to 57,000 VND/kg after a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the purchase price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 57,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.

* In the South, the price of live pigs increased by 1,000 - 3,000 VND/kg compared to last weekend.

Currently, the provinces including Binh Phuoc, Dong Thap, An Giang, Vinh Long,... all have slightly increased prices, currently trading in the range of 57,000 - 59,000 VND/kg.

60,000 VND/kg is the transaction price recorded in Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh and Vung Tau after all increasing by 2,000 VND/kg.

This is also the purchase price recorded in Binh Duong province after increasing by 3,000 VND/kg.

The price of live pigs in the Southern region today fluctuates between 57,000 - 60,000 VND/kg.

* According to the Vietnam Livestock Association, the price of live pigs in the world market in May continued to decrease. In the Chinese market, the price of live pigs continuously decreased and is currently only about 46,000 VND/kg due to abundant supply.

Meanwhile, domestic pig prices continued to increase, with many provinces and cities reaching and exceeding VND60,000/kg. On the contrary, animal feed prices decreased, causing many farmers to breathe a sigh of relief and be optimistic about the recovery of the pig farming industry.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Doan, Vice President of the Dong Nai Province Livestock Association, said: At present, livestock farmers are breathing a sigh of relief because in addition to the trend of increasing pork prices, feed prices are decreasing.

Most recently, on June 14, large animal feed suppliers officially reduced prices for the second time since the beginning of the year, with an average reduction of 300 - 400 VND/kg/time, depending on the type.

This is very positive information because compared to the beginning of the year, animal feed suppliers only reduced prices through promotions.
