Faced with the risk of disease for people after the recent storm and flood No. 11, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health sent a delegation of medical staff to support the Cao Bang Provincial health sector in disease prevention, control and health care for people.
On October 12, the Department of Health of Cao Bang and Gia Lai provinces coordinated to organize working groups to visit and support people in Hoa An, Lung Nam, Thanh Long, Phuc Hoa, Quang Han communes and Tan Giang and Thuc Phan wards to overcome the consequences of floods, ensure environmental sanitation and take care of community health.
During the joint effort to support flood victims, the Department of Health of Cao Bang and Gia Lai provinces donated more than 900 family medicine bags to people in affected communes and wards, including essential medicines such as fever reducers, diarrhea, allergies, antiseptics, eye drops and bandages.
In addition, the delegation also distributed Aquatabs 67mg water disinfectant tablets to 16 households, treated water sources for 7 households, and sprayed disinfectants on the environment at more than 70 households, as well as many public areas such as agency headquarters, medical stations, residential groups, and stadiums.

People in flooded areas are also instructed to take measures to treat the environment and water sources according to the Ministry of Health's instructions to prevent epidemics.
After storms and floods, the environment is polluted, potentially posing a risk of disease outbreaks, especially in flooded areas. It is essential to promptly and decisively implement measures to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, ensure environmental sanitation, clean water and prevent disease.
The practical activities of the working groups have contributed to helping people stabilize their lives and protect their health after floods./.
