Rice price today August 13: Export leads, domestic stable

Rice prices today are stable, fresh rice is 5,700-6,200 VND/kg, CL 555 rice has decreased to 8,650-8,750 VND/kg. Vietnam's rice exports lead the region with 395 USD/ton (5% broken), the domestic market is quiet.

Domestic rice prices

In the Mekong Delta, rice prices remained stable: IR 50404, OM 18, Nang Hoa 9, Dai Thom 8 5,700 - 6,200 VND/kg; OM 5451 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg. Raw rice OM 380 8,300 - 8,400 VND/kg, CL 555 decreased 150 VND/kg to 8,650 - 8,750 VND/kg, IR 504 decreased 50 VND/kg to 8,450 - 8,550 VND/kg, OM 5451 9,500 - 9,650 VND/kg, OM 18 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Trading market

End-of-season rice supply is low, transactions in An Giang , Dong Thap, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Tay Ninh are slow. Traders buy sparingly, prices are stable, in some places farmers keep prices high.

Export rice price

Vietnam's rice prices lead the region: 5% broken rice is 395 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is 371 USD/ton, 100% broken rice is 339 USD/ton, surpassing Thailand and India. With global supply surplus, India has reduced the price of 5% broken rice to 360 - 368 USD/ton, and the Philippines has temporarily suspended imports until October, causing downward pressure on prices.
