Fresh rice price increased slightly

In many localities in the Mekong Delta, the rice harvest is gradually decreasing. Demand is not high, but the price of some fresh rice varieties has increased slightly by VND 100/kg. Specifically, IR 50404 rice (fresh) is currently at VND 5,700 - 5,900/kg; OM 5451 rice ranges from VND 5,900 - 6,000/kg; Dai Thom 8 and OM 18 rice are VND 6,100 - 6,200/kg. Fragrant rice varieties such as Nang Hoa 9 are offered at VND 6,100 - 6,200/kg.

Prices of raw rice and finished products are stable, some types increase slightly

The raw rice market today maintained a stable momentum, except for CL 555 rice, which increased by 100 VND/kg to 9,000 - 9,200 VND/kg. OM 5451 rice remained at 9,800 - 9,950 VND/kg. Other rice varieties such as OM 380, OM 18, IR 50404... did not fluctuate significantly.

Finished rice OM 380 fluctuates from 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg, IR 50404 reaches 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. In general, domestic rice prices today are relatively stable, with low arrivals, warehouses buying regularly but cautiously.

At retail markets, rice prices have not fluctuated much compared to yesterday. Nang Nhen rice is still at the top with a price of VND28,000/kg; Huong Lai rice is at VND22,000/kg; Jasmine rice ranges from VND16,000 to VND18,000/kg; common white rice is around VND16,000/kg.

By-products increased slightly, trading was slow.

The price of OM 5451 broken rice increased by 100 VND/kg, currently reaching 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of bran fluctuates between 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg, the price of rice husk is commonly at 1,000 - 1,150 VND/kg. The supply of by-products is not abundant, transactions are still at an average level.

Rice export price remains stable, continues strong competition

In the international market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable today. 5% broken rice was traded at $378 per ton, higher than the same type of rice from Thailand but lower than India and Pakistan. 25% broken rice remained at $357 per ton and 100% broken rice at $319 per ton.

Global demand is likely to increase due to lower production in Indonesia and other countries. Indonesia said it will release 1.3 million tons of rice to stabilize the domestic market, strengthen supervision and ensure that subsidized rice reaches the right people.
