A week after the opening ceremony, class 11/4 held a parent-teacher meeting in a very unique way. The “director” of the meeting was homeroom teacher Le Thi Tham – a young, creative and dedicated teacher.

Instead of just reporting achievements or dry numbers, Ms. Tham turned the meeting into a space for connection and sharing, so that parents could listen to the true voices from their children's hearts.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dat, a parent of a student in grade 11/4, shared that he was really surprised and touched: “I have never attended a parent-teacher meeting that was so well prepared. When I held the letter my child wrote, I felt like I understood him better and sympathized with him more. I also felt the love and devotion of the homeroom teacher for the children.”

Not only parents, students also had unforgettable experiences. Dang Van Anh Quang confided: “I was lucky to participate in the performance for the conference and saw the teacher carefully prepare the parent-teacher meeting and witnessed my father reading the letter I wrote, I was both surprised and happy. Up until now, I thought the parent-teacher meeting was just a time to announce grades, but today is an opportunity for me and my father to connect and understand each other better.”

Obviously, this creative organization has turned the parent-teacher meeting into a forum for parents and children to express their feelings and understand each other, rather than a one-way dialogue between teachers and parents.

After the meeting, many parents posted their feelings on social networks, along with pictures of letters and warm moments.

A parent in Hai Van ward commented on the post: “This morning I also attended a parent meeting at another school. Teachers mainly announced plans and discussed contributions. Hearing about this meeting, I was really impressed and found it worth learning from for other classes and schools.”

As for students, the lingering effect is the motivation to study. Many students confided that for the first time they felt their parents really listened to them, not only in the information exchanged between parents and the school but also through the wishes and concerns of the students.

From the story of class 11/4, it can be seen that parent-teacher conferences do not necessarily have to be associated with anxiety and stress.
