Dak Lieng Commune: People handed over a pangolin to the authorities

Dak Lieng Commune Police have just carried out the procedure of receiving and coordinating the handover of a pangolin to the authorities for handling according to regulations.

Specifically, on November 7, the Commune Police received a pangolin owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan, residing in Dong Giang 2 village, Dak Lieng commune.

According to Mr. Hoan, he discovered this pangolin wandering around his family’s coffee plantation. Realizing that this was a wild animal that needed to be protected, Mr. Hoan promptly captured it and brought it to the Dak Lieng Commune Police Station to hand it over.

Immediately upon receiving the information, Dak Lieng Commune Police made a record of the incident and closely coordinated with specialized units to ensure the safety and health of the pangolin.

Through initial examination, the pangolin weighed 1.7 kg, was in stable health, and showed no signs of injury. The authorities then received, cared for, and carried out the necessary procedures to handle it in accordance with the law on wildlife protection.

Dak Lieng Commune Police sent their commendation and appreciation for the proactive and timely actions of Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan. This action not only demonstrates the high sense of responsibility of the people in protecting the environment and biodiversity but also actively contributes to the prevention and suppression of violations of the law related to hunting, transporting and illegal trading of wild animals in the area.
