Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, February 18th, showed slight fluctuations. Market volume was low, with some rice varieties experiencing mixed price increases and decreases.

Specifically, regarding fresh rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: IR 50404 rice increased by 200 VND, fluctuating between 5,400 - 5,600 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates between 6,500 - 6,700 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice increased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 5,800 - 6,100 VND/kg; OM 380 rice is at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; OM 18 rice fluctuates between 6,500 - 6,700 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice is at 9,200 VND/kg.
Observations in many localities today show a fairly large supply of rice, with buying and selling transactions remaining sluggish. In Hau Giang, the rice harvest is substantial, transactions are slow, and the price of fragrant rice has decreased slightly. In An Giang , farmers are maintaining stable prices for all types of rice, while traders are offering lower prices, and transactions have slowed down.
In Long An, demand for new rice is low, mainly for rice already reserved, and prices have decreased. In Can Tho , farmers are offering harvested winter-spring rice from some fields, with a slight downward trend in fragrant rice prices, slow demand, and weak transactions.
Similarly, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of raw 5451 rice has decreased by 200 VND, fluctuating between 8,600-8,750 VND/kg; raw OM 380 rice fluctuates between 7,550-7,700 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice fluctuates between 8,800-9,000 VND/kg; raw IR 504 rice fluctuates between 7,700-7,800 VND/kg; finished IR 504 rice fluctuates between 9,500-9,700 VND/kg.
Regarding by-products, prices fluctuate between 5,450 and 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice is priced at 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg; broken rice (grades 3-4) has increased by 100 VND to 6,100-6,200 VND; and dry rice bran is priced at 5,450 - 5,650 VND/kg compared to the beginning of the week.
Observations from various localities today indicate low supply and slow trading. The price of fragrant rice continues to fall, warehouses are buying slowly, and bulk OM5451 rice is arriving in poor quality.
In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is moderate, with warehouses buying cautiously and prices slightly decreasing. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the supply is quite good, fragrant sticky rice is available in quantity but prices have decreased slightly, and white rice prices have decreased even more slightly.
At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), the supply of rice is higher, transactions at warehouses are sporadic, and rice prices are fluctuating slightly. In An Cu (Cai Be district, Tien Giang province), the supply is better, transactions are slow, and rice prices have decreased depending on the quality of the rice.
At retail markets, the prices of various types of rice remain stable compared to the beginning of the week. Currently, regular rice ranges from 14,000 to 16,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 to 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice has decreased by 2,000 VND, ranging from 18,000 to 20,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 18,000 VND/kg; and Thai Soc rice is priced at 21,000 VND/kg. Japanese rice costs 22,000 VND/kg.
On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged today compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price for 5% broken rice is $395/ton; 25% broken rice is $372/ton; and 100% broken rice is $310/ton.
