Rice price today April 3: Fresh rice price fluctuates

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) decreased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,900 - 6,100 VND/kg; the price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) decreased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,600 - 5,800 VND/kg; OM 380 rice (fresh) decreased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,500 - 5,700 VND/kg; the price of Nang Hoa 9 rice increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,550 - 6,750 VND/kg; the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,600 - 6,800 VND/kg; OM 18 rice price (fresh) fluctuates at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg.

In many localities today, sources are scarce, buying and selling transactions are slow. In Dong Thap, sources are scarce, fragrant rice prices are increasing, buying and selling transactions are slow. In An Giang, farmers offer high prices, traders are absent, new transactions are slow.

In Soc Trang, farmers offer high prices, unsold rice is still scarce, demand is quite high for market goods. In Kien Giang, rice is still scarce, farmers offer high prices, and transactions are slow. In Bac Lieu, demand for rice is usually better, prices fluctuate little.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently raw rice 5451 increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 9,150 - 9,300/kg; raw rice OM 380 fluctuated at 7,750 - 7,850; raw rice IR 504 fluctuated at 7,900 - 8,000 VND/kg; finished rice OM 380 fluctuated at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; finished rice IR 504 fluctuated at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

As for by-products, the price of by-products ranges from 6,600 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice 3-4 ranges from 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; bran price ranges from 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, the quantity is quite good, warehouses continue to buy fragrant sticky rice, rice prices increase depending on the type. In An Giang, the quantity is better, warehouses ask to buy regularly, white raw rice warehouses offer a slightly increased selling price. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the quantity is sporadic, warehouses buy regularly, prices fluctuate slightly.

Sa Dec market channel (Dong Thap), the quantity is little, the market warehouse buys regularly with fragrant sticky rice, the price fluctuates little. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), the quantity is small, the buying and selling transactions are slower, the price is stable.

At retail markets, the prices of rice of all kinds are the same as yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND15,000 - 16,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice fluctuates at VND22,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND18,000 - 20,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice fluctuates at VND22,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice fluctuates at VND21,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; Soc regular rice fluctuates at VND18,000/kg; Soc Thai rice is priced at VND21,000/kg; Japanese rice is priced at VND22,000/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices today decreased compared to the beginning of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 399 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is at 370 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 316 USD/ton (down 9 USD/ton).
