Paddy price increased by 200 VND/kg, rice price decreased slightly

​​​​Rice prices today, July 2, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated in opposite directions, with rice prices decreasing and paddy prices increasing. Rice prices decreased by 50 VND/kg, paddy prices increased by 200 VND/kg. Rice market transactions were slow, prices decreased slightly.

The rice market in the Mekong Delta today is generally slow in supply, slow in transactions, and poor in quality. Specifically, in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice is slow in supply, poor in quality, warehouses offer low prices, and few buyers. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang ), rice is low in supply, prices are stable, and there is little good rice. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), prices have decreased slightly, transactions are slow, rice quality is poor, and warehouses offer low prices.

According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice price has been adjusted compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of IR 504 raw rice is at 10,700 - 10,800 VND/kg, down 50 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice remains at 12,600 - 12,800 VND/kg.

Similarly, there is no adjustment for by-products today compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 sheet is unchanged compared to yesterday at 9,100 - 9,300 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry bran remains stable at 7,000 - 7,100 VND/kg.

At retail markets, rice prices have not been adjusted. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 30,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 20,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates around 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice 20,000 - 21,000 VND/kg; Huong jasmine rice 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice 18,500 VND/kg; Thai Soc rice 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg.

Regarding rice, in An Giang, the demand for buying is quite high, and the price of rice fluctuates little. In Long An, rice is ready to be harvested in the next 5 days, but transactions are slow and the demand for buying is slow. In An Giang, the price of rice has decreased, the quality of rice is poor, and many traders have abandoned their deposits. In Hau Giang, the rice is ripe in the fields, and transactions are stable.

Specifically, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the rice varieties today are not adjusted. Of which, IR 50404 rice price fluctuates around 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice price is 7,200 - 7,400 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice price is stable at 7,000 - 7,100 VND/kg; OM 18 rice price is 7,300 - 7,400 VND/kg; OM 380 fluctuates from 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg. Japanese rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 price is 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg and Nang Nhen rice (dry) is at 20,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the sticky rice market recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. 3-month sticky rice (dry) remained unchanged compared to the price from 8,800 VND/kg to 9,000 VND/kg. In addition, 9,000 - 9,200 VND/kg is the selling price applied to Long An sticky rice (dry). On the other hand, 3-month sticky rice (fresh) and Long An sticky rice (fresh) continued to be stable today.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices have not been adjusted. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice is stable at 468 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is currently at 569 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is stable at 544 USD/ton.
