The USD exchange rate at commercial banks today (November 6th) was adjusted upwards, following the strong upward trend of the US dollar in the global market, especially the buying rate which surged significantly.
The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US Dollar today (November 6th) was announced by the State Bank of Vietnam at 24,258 VND/USD, an increase of 10 VND compared to yesterday's rate.
Applying a 5% margin, commercial banks are allowed to trade today at a ceiling exchange rate of VND 25,470/USD and a floor exchange rate of VND 23,045/USD.
The State Bank of Vietnam's Exchange Department maintains the reference buying and selling rates for USD within the range of 23,400-25,450 VND/USD.
At the banking channel, the USD price today was adjusted upwards for both buying and selling.
Today, the selling price of USD at commercial banks increased by 10 dong compared to yesterday's rate, reaching the ceiling of 25,470 dong/USD.

The buying price of USD at all banks has been adjusted upwards, with increases ranging from 19 to 67 dong.
At the start of trading on November 6th, Vietcombank raised the buying price of USD for cash to 25,140 VND/USD, an increase of 50 VND compared to the start of trading yesterday (November 5th).
Similarly, early this morning, BIDV also increased the price of the US dollar by 19 dong, bringing the buying price of USD to 25,170 dong/USD.
VietinBank also raised the buying price of USD to 25,218 VND/USD, an increase of 67 VND.
In the private banking sector, Techcombank increased its USD buying price by 45 dong compared to the beginning of yesterday morning, to 25,207 dong/USD.
Meanwhile, Sacombank raised its USD buying price to 25,170 VND/USD, an increase of 50 VND compared to the beginning of yesterday morning.
ACB also increased the buying price of USD in cash to 25,180 VND/USD, 60 VND higher than yesterday's opening rate.
Eximbank adjusted the buying price of USD for cash upwards to 25,170 VND/USD, 60 VND higher than yesterday morning.
Meanwhile, in the free market, the USD exchange rate remained relatively stable. This morning, foreign exchange bureaus in the free market were buying and selling USD at a common rate of 25,780-25,880 VND/USD, unchanged from the previous session.
On the global market, the USD price rose sharply as Donald Trump was temporarily leading in the US presidential election.
The US Dollar Index (which measures the fluctuations of the US dollar against six major currencies) was at 104.91 points at 10:13 AM on November 6th (Vietnam time), up 1.46% from the previous session.
