In the world , early morning of July 15, the world gold price fell to 3,345 USD/ounce, down 27 USD compared to the peak in last night's trading session of 3,372 USD/ounce. The price of gold for August delivery also fell 10.9 USD, closing at 3,353.9 USD/ounce. However, by early afternoon of July 15, the world gold price tended to increase again when gold traded around 3,356 USD/ounce.

The gold market is turning its attention to the June consumer price index (CPI) report, due out today, with a forecast increase of 2.7% year-on-year, up from 2.4% in May. This data could have a strong impact on expectations for the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy, thereby affecting gold prices.

While gold prices have recently shown signs of slowing down, a weaker US dollar could be enough to fuel the next leg up in the yellow metal. In their latest update on the precious metal, analysts said that recent weaker forecasts for the US dollar could help restart the gold rally.

According to Mr. Juan Carlos Cavatoni, representative of the World Gold Council (WGC), central banks continue to be a big driver for gold, accounting for 20% - 25% of annual gold consumption in the past 3-4 years. A recent survey by the WGC of 73 central banks showed that 95% consider gold as a core element in their reserves, 50% plan to increase their gold reserves in the next 12 months.
