On the morning of July 15, gasoline prices continued to decline after losing about 2% in the first session of the week ending early this morning (Vietnam time). Accordingly, Brent oil prices decreased by 1.15 USD/barrel, equivalent to 1.63%, to 69.21 USD/barrel; WTI oil also fell by 1.47 USD/barrel, equivalent to 2.15%, to 66.98 USD/barrel.
Oil prices fell as investors weighed fresh threats from US President Donald Trump’s announcement of sanctions on countries buying Russian oil, which could impact global oil supplies, along with concerns about new US tariffs, Reuters reported.

In fact, oil prices jumped immediately after the news of sanctions against countries buying Russian oil from the US President, but 50 days is the time period for negotiations before imposing such sanctions. Analysts say that the market reacted negatively, because it seemed that there was still plenty of time for negotiations.
"The fear of immediate US sanctions on Russia has subsided, as the 50-day deadline makes this risk more remote than initially thought during the day," Phil Flynn, senior analyst at Price Futures Group, told Reuters.
Currently, China and India - the world's two largest oil importing markets - are two of the top destinations for Russian crude.
In other developments, the EU is close to approving its 18th package of sanctions against Russia over the conflict in Ukraine, including a cap on oil prices.
Domestically, on the morning of July 15, updating the reference price of finished petroleum products in the Singapore market, some key enterprises forecast that the price of petroleum products in the management session this Thursday afternoon (July 17) may fluctuate in opposite directions, with gasoline prices decreasing and oil prices increasing. Specifically, it is estimated that gasoline prices will only decrease slightly by a few dozen VND per liter, while oil prices will increase by about 150 - 220 VND per liter.
This forecast does not include the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund and other fees, if any changes.
On the morning of July 15, the retail prices of petroleum products according to Petrolimex 's price list in market area 1 (near ports, warehouses, refineries...) are as follows: RON 95-V gasoline 20,450 VND/liter; RON 95-III gasoline 20,090 VND/liter; E5 RN92 gasoline 19,650 VND/liter; 0.001SV diesel 19,050 VND/liter; kerosene 18,370 VND/liter./.
