World oil prices on September 3 recorded an upward trend as the market awaited the OPEC+ meeting at the end of the week. At the same time, concerns that the escalating Russia-Ukraine conflict could affect supply also contributed to the price increase.
World oil price today 9/3
At 4:30 a.m. on September 3 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price was at 68.51 USD/barrel, up 0.54% (equivalent to 0.37 USD). WTI oil price reached 64.99 USD/barrel, up 1.55% (equivalent to 0.99 USD).
According to experts, oil prices are being supported by expectations that OPEC+ will maintain a policy of voluntary production cuts by a number of countries, including Russia and Saudi Arabia. This is a measure to keep prices stable around the threshold of 60 USD/barrel, despite forecasts of oversupply in the fourth quarter of 2025.
In addition, U.S. crude inventories are forecast to continue to decline, suggesting that late summer demand will remain steady. Drone attacks on Russian oil facilities, which disrupted about 17% of refining capacity, are also adding to supply pressure.
