Fuel prices plummet, with RON95 and E5 dropping by more than 1,000 VND/liter.

Fuel prices were adjusted downwards in today's price adjustment (May 28). Specifically, the price of RON95 gasoline decreased by more than 1,300 VND/liter.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance have decided to adjust retail prices of petroleum products effective from 3 PM today.

Accordingly, the price of RON95 gasoline decreased by 1,395 VND/liter, bringing the selling price down to 24,154 VND/liter.

The price of E5 gasoline decreased by 1,082 VND/liter, bringing the selling price down to 23,258 VND/liter.

Diesel fuel prices decreased by 1,110 VND/liter, bringing the selling price down to 27,651 VND/liter.

Regarding the petroleum market, according to Circular 50 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from June 1st, E10 gasoline will be used nationwide for vehicles with gasoline engines. Meanwhile, E5 RON92 gasoline will continue to be used until December 31st, 2030.

In fact, E10 gasoline has been sold on a trial basis by businesses since August 2025. In May, thousands of gas stations nationwide switched from selling traditional mineral gasoline to selling E10 gasoline.

However, concerns about the compatibility of E10 gasoline with certain engine types and its long-term safety remain prevalent in the press and on social media. This could lead to conflicting opinions if not fully explained.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has recently issued a document requesting localities to step up communication efforts to address people's concerns about this new type of fuel.

Amid concerns about replacing conventional gasoline with E10 gasoline, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan affirmed that the implementation roadmap is being carried out step by step and is not imposed.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade's stance is that the development of biofuels must go hand in hand with ensuring technical safety, fuel quality, and consumer rights. Accordingly, the Ministry will strengthen communication efforts, providing scientific , transparent, and accurate information to help people understand biofuels correctly, avoiding confusion or unverified information that could negatively impact the market.
