The 1st Chau Doc City Expanded Lion, Dragon, and Unicorn Dance Competition

On the morning of May 19th, the Chau Doc City Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Center held the closing ceremony and awarded prizes for the 1st Chau Doc City Expanded Lion Dance and Dragon Dance Competition 2025. Chau Doc City Party Secretary Lam Quang Thi, along with leaders of Chau Doc City and a large number of delegates and local people, attended the event.

Leaders of Chau Doc City, along with delegates and organizers, took a commemorative photo with the lion dance teams that achieved the best results.

The competition brought together 15 teams from Chau Doc City, Long Xuyen City, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho City, Dong Thap Province, Dong Nai Province, Soc Trang Province, Lam Dong Province, and Binh Phuoc Province, competing in the "Lion Dance on Mai Hoa Thung" event (each team performed for 7-10 minutes). After two days of competition, the organizers decided to award first prize to the Mieu Bay Ba An Giang team, second prize to the Chung Huy Duong Ho Chi Minh City team, and two third prizes to the Phuong Te Duong Ho Chi Minh City and Style 2D Lam Dong teams. In addition, the organizers also awarded three consolation prizes.

This is a new activity, celebrating the peak of the Via Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam Festival; creating a highlight in the first year of the festival since its recognition by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The tournament also provides an opportunity for athletes to exchange experiences and promote the practice of sports , especially the art of Lion and Dragon dance.
